For Nebraska football, defensive player Ty Robinson is a highly-coveted prospect as they work towards National Signing Day. Robinson is a 6-foot-6 and 275 pounds with a rank of No. 12 overall for his strongside defensive end position. The Huskers appear to have made Robinson a priority for their recruiting, and based on recent indicators he's all but signed to become part of the Huskers' roster. However, there are several big reasons that seem to be in favor of Nebraska landing Robinson for National Signing Day.

One school loses steam

There are three other schools competing to sign Ty Robinson, though.

They are the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Oregon Ducks, and the USC Trojans. All three schools have impressive football pedigrees and success rates over the years. In fact, one would think Alabama and Oregon offer Robinson more chance at success in the near terms, but Nebraska is looking bright based on their end of season performance.

Giving an advantage to three of the college teams is a recent transaction at the University of Southern California. A report from Daily Trojan on Wednesday (November 28) states that the school lost defensive line coach Kenechi Udeze, as well as defensive backs coach Ronnie Bradford. Udeze posted a heartfelt note on Twitter about his time with the school.

Udeze was a former defensive end at the school from 2001 to 2003, giving him some insight into the position at USC.

He recently chose to leave his job on the coaching staff after being promoted in 2016. Bradford also began in 2016 under defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergrast. However, the past season was far from a good one for USC and some of the secondary plays were under fire.

Basically, USC did some coaching house cleaning. The team had a rough 2018 campaign, going 5-7 overall for a fourth-place finish in the Pac-12 South.

With their coaching staff getting an overhaul, it could sour Robinson on the USC Trojans, when compared to the other three contenders.

Frost's visit lines up nicely

Recruits and commits have been making visits to Nebraska to determine their future paths. Ty Robinson already made school visits over the past month or so. His visit was with USC's Udeze back on October 26, followed by a visit to Oregon on November 2.

Two weeks later, he stopped by Nebraska where he's been recruited by Frost and Mike Dawson. Just a week after that, he headed to Bama. Famed head coach Nick Saban was part of the recruiting team, as one might expect.

Right now, Coach Frost is already making visits as part of the contact period ahead of when players can start signing. However, he has one planned for midway through December for their coveted prospect. That's right, Frost has the calendar marked for just four days ahead of when Ty Robinson can choose to sign for a school.

Coach Frost's visit with Robinson is planned for December 15. Robinson can make his decision to sign on December 19, as part of the early college football signing period. That's a huge boost for the Nebraska Cornhuskers to make an impression on the player they'd love to have for next season's defensive line.

Right now, Rivals website is giving Nebraska a major percentage chance to land Ty Robinson. The site lists them as 100 percent favorites, with fans giving Nebraska football an 85 percent chance. Robinson will look awfully good in that Cornhuskers red and white next season.
