The sports world will be very active on Tuesday, October 23. First and foremost, Game 1 of the 2018 World Series will take place from Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts as the Boston Red Sox host the Los Angeles Dodgers. It comes off a weekend where the Detroit Lions played very well against the Miami Dolphins.

Kershaw vs Sale

Game 1 of the Fall Classic will showcase arguably two of the best pitchers in the game today. According to a CBS Sports report, these two teams do not have much of a history in the head-to-head competition, but they do have a common link in Los Angeles Manager Dave Roberts.

Have the odds shifted much since the ALCS and NLCS?

Boston natives surely remember Roberts' steal of second base, 14 years ago, that started the biggest comeback in ALCS history. True Red Sox fans will tell you, to this day, that when Roberts got off the bench on that cold October evening as a pinch runner, he single-handedly changed the momentum of the championship series against the New York Yankees.

If you don’t remember the 2004 ALCS, Boston trailed New York 3-0 and was on the verge of being swept. Roberts, Big Papi, and the crazy cast of the BoSox not only rallied to win Game 4, following Roberts' swipe of second, but they went on to win the series 4-3 in the biggest ALCS comeback ever. Even with Roberts’ heroics, don’t expect this love affair to last long.

Sure, Roberts will most likely get a standing ovation when he is introduced, but then it is game on!

I love the Red Sox at home, it is hard not to. The thing I don’t like is that MLB still gives the advantage to the National League, in the fact that they can use a DH in the AL ballparks, and the pitcher bats when the National League is the host.

That rule desperately needs to change.

76ers vs Pistons

Three NBA games are scheduled for tonight, and the first one includes two scrappy teams from the East in Philadelphia and Detroit. The 76ers are coming off of a great 2017 season, and are expected to do well in 2018. The Pistons, on the other hand, are a team that seemed to be underachieving under Stan Van Gundy, but that doesn’t seem to be the case, so far, with new head coach Dwane Casey.

The former Raptors leader took over for SVG this season, and he has Detroit off to a 2-0 start. But more importantly, they look like they are hustling more on every play.

The Pistons are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games at home, and with a healthy duo of Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond, they are the play tonight, especially as a slight underdog.

Below is a look at the odds and predictions for Tuesday’s games.

World Series Game 1
