Week 6 of the 2018 NFL schedule will get underway tomorrow evening when the NY Giants host the world champion Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night football. Back in August, many NFL experts had this game circled on their schedule as one of the must-see games of the first half of the season. However, things have not gone exactly to plan for either of these teams thus far in 2018.

Wide open NFC

When you start the season 1-4, usually there are no bright spots to reference. However, in the case of the NY Giants, a win over the Philadelphia Eagles would change that around in a hurry.

According to CBS Sports, the G-Men may be in the last place at 1-4, but the first place team, the Washington Redskins, are just 2-2. Add to that the team they are facing Thursday evening, the Philadelphia Eagles, are just 2-3, and you have the perfect storm for the struggling Giants.

A win over Philly incredibly would put New York not only back in the early Wild Card race, but only one game out of first place in the NFC East.

Right now the LA Rams own the NFC at 5-0 followed by the 4-1 Saints, but after that, it is a huge log-jam for several teams that are either 2-2 or 2-3 on the early season. The Giants need this game to stay in the race, and amazingly enough, if they do beat the Eagles Thursday evening, they are more than right back in contention for a postseason spot.

Another week of huge matchups

Week 6 will once again not disappoint in terms of top-notch games! The Steelers take on the Bengals, Chicago heads to Miami in a matchup of two surprising teams, and the surging Chiefs will face the New England Patriots on Sunday night football. Can Patrick Mahomes keep the Chiefs perfect against the red-hot Patriots?

We shall soon find out!
