Nebraska football fans who were becoming confident that Wandale Robinson was going to be a Huskers' commit by the end of the week might want to slow their roll. The all-purpose back is set to choose his future school on Thursday. For the last few weeks, Robinson has been trending toward Lincoln, according to most recruiting experts. After talking to Rivals on Monday, it appears there are still some teams in the running that many believed had been little more than an afterthought.

Disappointment coming for Nebraska football fans?

The end of October could either be one of the biggest for the Nebraska Cornhuskers' football program in quite some time, or it could be one of the most frustrating in an equally long time.

Last week, the Huskers nailed down two very important commitments in the form of Darien Chase and Bryce Benhart. This week could be equally huge if the program can reel in Wandale Robinson on Thursday and Javin Wright on Wednesday. Both are considered leans to Nebraska. Both have had stiff competition enter the picture.

Wright has said he will be choosing between UCLA and the Nebraska football program. He is also coming off a visit to the Bruins that saw him say glowing things about Chip Kelly's rebuilding job. Now we have to hope he likes Scott Frost's rebuilding job just a little bit better. Wandale Robinson had thought to be basically choosing between the Cornhuskers and Ohio State, with the outside shot of Kentucky being in the mix.

A recent interview with Rivals showed the 4-star all-purpose back is still considering a total of five schools. Could that be bad news for Frost? It's entirely possible he is giving consideration to the other two schools. On the other hand, it's never good to see Alabama still in the mix. Purdue is a bit of a worry too, considering the positive press they've been getting this season.

Wandale Robinson could be putting up a smoke screen

It's always possible that the Kentucky native is simply wanting to help generate some interest in his Thursday announcement. He could also just want to make sure he's respecting the schools that have reached out to him and spent time with him. The bottom line is that news had been looking like Wandale Robinson was almost assuredly a lock to end up a member of the Nebraska football team. It's now looking like that isn't exactly the case. There could be some new drama as Halloween week continues to unfold for Cornhuskers fans.
