The Nebraska football team is getting treats instead of tricks this Halloween. Javin Wright, the son of former Husker Toby Wright announced he had chosen the Huskers over his other finalist school, UCLA. The announcement came a bit ahead of schedule, as it was technically still October 30th on his side of the country. Wright had said he would be announcing October 31, but it appears he simply couldn't wait any longer. That means Halloween Eve is looking a bit like Christmas Eve for Huskers fans that are excited to see the 2019 class continue to get better and better.

Nebraska football could have a Halloween week haul

Javin Wright is going to be an impact player for Sean Fisher's defensive backfield. He's someone who understands what the Nebraska Cornhusker culture is all about, thanks to listening to stories from his dad, who played under Tom Osborne. Wright is the 14th best player in the state of Arizona and considered the 84th best cornerback in the class. A 3-star prospect according to the 247Sports composite, he's one heck of a get for Scott Frost and company. He may not be the real headliner for the week if everything goes right on November 1.

Wandale Robinson is going to be the present that Husker fans are hoping they'll be able to unwrap this week.

He's a 4-star all-purpose back that would be choosing Nebraska over powerhouse schools like Ohio State and Alabama. He could also be picking the Nebraska football team over programs that are on the rise like Kentucky and Purdue. Fans hope Frost has his program on the rise as well, but so far, it's got the worst record of any of the "contenders" for the 4-star Kentucky prospect.

Javin Wright's commitment offsets Monday disappointment

The late Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning good news worked to offset a bit of a recruiting loss for the Cornhuskers on Monday night. Nebraska had been hoping to make the final five of inside linebacker Daniel Heimuli. The 4-star prospect announced the schools he will continue to look at are Oregon, Washington, UCLA, Utah, and Alabama.

No Big Ten schools made the cut.

Javin Wright managed to stem off any bad mojo from that announcement. He is now the third new Husker commit in the last two weeks. If Wandale Robinson does what Nebraska football fans hope on Thursday afternoon, then it will indeed have been one heck of a Halloween haul in Lincoln for Scott Frost and the rest of his coaching staff.
