The Nebraska football recruiting efforts are moving right along. The Huskers got themselves a 4-star wide receiver on Thursday. Next week, they could be adding two more very talented prospects to the 2019 recruiting class. That's if everything goes right. The problem is that at least in the case of Javin Wright, the Cornhuskers have some rather stiff competition. While Nebraska has long been thought to be the clear front-runner for the 3-star defensive back, it appears his most recent visit to UCLA has allowed the Bruins to make some inroads.

'Bruins and Nebraska football and are neck-and-neck'

Javin Wright is a bit of a legacy case for the Huskers. His father, Toby Wright played defensive back in Lincoln during the glory days of the program. Javin's father has apparently done a very good job of illustrating everything the school has to offer. Unfortunately for Cornhusker fans, it appears the Bruins put on the full-court press when Javin visited last weekend.

Talking to 247Sports, he said UCLA made sure to show him everything it has to offer, as they managed to upend the Arizona Wildcats. The cornerback, who is the 14th rated player in the state of Arizona, says the two schools are now neck-and-neck.

That's not particularly good news for Nebraska with just five days until his official commitment. The Nebraska football coaching staff is going to have to make sure they are able to make up ground during that time. If they are able to make up that ground, it could be a situation where get two commits in two days.

Javin Wright still getting Nebraska crystal balls

While UCLA has made up ground, 247Sports still believes the defensive back is heading to Lincoln. The good news is that we are going to find out sooner rather than later. This particular coaching staff has a habit of recruiting in bunches. When they get one commit, they tend not to stop there.

Even if they are somehow not able to reel in Javin Wright, the Nebraska football staff will be looking hard at getting Wandale Robinson on board. The all-purpose back is going to be announced just one day after Wright. When talking about getting Darien Chase yesterday, and the fact that the receiver's commitment pushed the Huskers into the Top 25, it appears things are going rather well for the Cornhuskers. Another win this weekend, especially if the win is a blowout of a Bethune Cookman program that is going to be tired and feeling a little down.
