The NFL Power Rankings for Week 2 are out, and all it took was one game to have some major shifting in the standings! Yes, one week certainly doesn’t make a season, but already fans are buzzing after the first full weekend of action.

Chiefs, Vikings, Redskins look strong

The Washington Redskins, Minnesota Vikings and Kansas City Chiefs all have new signal callers in 2018, and each one looked more than comfortable with their new gig.

Patrick Mahomes took over in Kansas City, ironically for Alex Smith, and showed he can play this game at the highest level.

Mahomes tossed 4 touchdowns in his debut as the man in charge in Kansas City as he helped the Chiefs to a Week 1 victory against the Los Angeles Chargers.

While Chiefs fans were opening up their arms to Maholmes, The Washington Redskins faithful are loving Alex Smith in DC. Smith threw for 255 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Redskins downed Arizona out west by the final score of 24-6. The new look Redskins played well in Week 1, and they may be a sleeper to watch out for in the NFC East.

Shockers

When any team pulls off an upset in the NFL, it isn’t always front page news. However, the way the Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints both tasted defeat in Week 1 left many fans a bit shocked.

The Saints were run over by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home 48-40.

And oh, by the way, that was with backup QB Ryan Fitzpatrick leading the way for the Bucs.

CBS Sports indicates that the Detroit Lions tasted the same embarrassment at home as rookie QB Sam Darnold led the Jets to a shocking 48-17 victory at Ford Field in Detroit on Monday night. The game was definitely an unforgettable debut for new Lions head coach Matt Patricia and his staff.

Last but not least are the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas fell 16-8 to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday afternoon and while that didn't surprise many NFL experts since Carolina was favored to win, it should shock fans in Big D.

The Cowboys looked lost and lifeless. Yes, it is only one game, but life without Dez Bryant and Jason Witten has gotten off to a sluggish start for Dallas' lethargic offense.

Like the old saying goes, that’s why the games are played on the field and not on paper.
