With the NBA Summer League on a lot of basketball minds (along with the fact that LeBron James chose to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers), this is an interesting time for the basketball world. While many NBA fans are torn over the LeBron James to Los Angeles signing, and torn over the already stacked Golden State Warriors acquiring DeMarcus "Boogie" Cousins, an interesting story has surfaced via Clutch Points.
LeBron James allegedly beaten one on one by Michael Beasley
Miami Heat beat writer Tom Haberstroh claimed on the "Back To Back" podcast that during LeBron James' time with the Miami Heat, he struggled going head to head with one particular player. Now, at first glance, one might think that that player could have been Dwyane Wade or Chris Bosh, as they were both fellow All-Stars at the time. However, according to Haberstroh's claim, LeBron James struggled against none other than Michael Beasley.
Whether you are an avid supporter of LeBron James or you're a passionate hater, it's hard to picture LeBron James struggling against anyone in a one on one scenario.
For much of his career, his teammates have been caught watching as he played one on five regularly against opposing teams.
LeBron James watched his new teammates during Summer League
The city of Los Angeles is understandably torn. It's not every day that your franchise lands the best player in the world. It's even rarer still when a large portion of fans would rather LeBron James leave the city than ever wear the purple and gold. Still, no matter which side of the fence you're on, the subject is generating a lot of heat. Maybe LaVar Ball won't be able to run his mouth as much with a bigger fish in the pond.
Admittedly, Summer League games are not terribly exciting. It gives rookies a chance to get acclimated to the NBA game before the season tips off.
However, one of the bigger stories was LeBron James sitting in to watch his new teammates play, sporting Laker garb to boot.
The Los Angeles Lakers finished off the Detroit Pistons with a 101-78 victory with The King on hand to watch the festivities. Fans did not get to see The King in the purple and gold out on the court yet, but it's only a matter of time at this point.
Regardless of where the chips fall during the rest of free agency, there is still the behemoth known as the Golden State Warriors to contend with, and The King will still have to slay that beast if he hopes to reclaim his crown (if he makes it out of the Western Conference, that is).
