The NBA rumors continue to revolve largely around the LeBron James sweepstakes this summer. Once The King makes his official decision, it's expected to have a domino effect on the rest of the league. LeBron's choice of team will have an impact on other teams trying to get better to compete. While it's been mentioned that only a handful of teams have a legitimate shot at landing LeBron James, it hasn't stopped other players from recruiting him. Among the latest to try to lure LeBron is Victor Oladipo of the Indiana Pacers.

Oladipo makes a pitch to LeBron

On Monday night (June 25), Victor Oladipo was leaving TAO in Los Angeles, shortly after winning some hardware. Oladipo was just named the 2018 NBA Most Improved Player. That was thanks in part to his achieving All-Star status now that he's the main star of the Pacers. Oladipo nearly led that Indiana team to a shocking upset of the Cleveland Cavaliers, but LeBron James ended up preventing it in Game 7.

Even as good as they are already, Oladipo knows the Indiana Pacers could use more help.

That's why when TMZ caught up with him on Monday, they mentioned that Sacramento Kings player Willie Cauley-Stein said: "LeBron's coming to the Lakers." TMZ asked Oladipo if he wanted to play with anyone in particular. Oladipo calmly said, "Tell LeBron to come to the Pacers." TMZ asked again if there's anyone in free agency that the Pacers star wanted.

Oladipo smirked before replying, "Yeah, LeBron." He also added, "If you want to win, come to Indy!" as his pitch to the NBA superstar.

LeBron to Pacers unlikely

It's wishful thinking from the emerging NBA star. Victor Oladipo knows it would be hard to recruit Paul George back to the Indiana Pacers. After all, the Pacers had traded Paul for him and several other Oklahoma City Thunder players.

That leaves other free agents available which could include DeMarcus Cousins, Clint Capela, and obviously, LeBron James.

However, as LeBron is deciding his future, it's hard to fathom that the Indiana Pacers are even one of the teams he's contemplating. The city probably doesn't offer James an upgrade over playing in his current location of Cleveland or heading out to Magic's Lakers. Joining a star-studded roster such as the Philadelphia 76ers or Houston Rockets offers more of an upgrade toward winning a title than the Cavs currently have.

In addition, while Victor Oladipo is clearly a rising force in the league, it's hard to know if simply adding Lebron to that current roster would be enough.

After all, the Golden State Warriors seem to be holding their team together and look like they'll continue to wreak havoc on the league. That's why LeBron James is thinking long and hard over his next move. It could very well involve bringing Paul George, Chris Paul, or another star along with him to wherever he goes.

Still, the possibilities are always fun to imagine and most players in the league realize that just by having a guy named "LeBron James" on their roster, they move into that elite contender conversation. One can't blame Oladipo for trying!
