The two teams had previously met each other in the opening game of this year's IPL. Chennai prevailed on that occasion, beating the Mumbai in their own backyard by just one wicket. Dwayne Bravo was named the man of the match for his outstanding batting performance of 68 runs off 30 balls, which single-handedly took the match away from Mumbai.

Mumbai Indians: Mumbai wants to play the same line-up even after losing as many as five out of six games this season. The management has shown faith in a set of players and expects them to fire at some point in time.

They are likely to be unchanged, but Keiron Pollard's form can be a concern, and they might well have to drop him to get JP Duminy or Been Cutting off the bench.
