Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on Chennai Super Kings for the first time this season on April 25, 2018. The match will be played at the home turf of Royal Challengers, M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

Both the teams have contrasting fortunes this year at the IPL. RCB have won two out of the five games and are lying in the bottom four on the points table. On the other hand, CSK is still in the top 4 with four wins from five matches.

Live updates:

Chennai Super Kings won the toss and elected to field first.

7.2 overs - Bangalore 69/1

5.1 overs - Bangalore 36/1

Stay tuned for the toss.

Bangalore, time and again have proved that three or four superstars cannot win the title, while Chennai is coming up with match-winning performances by some or the other player every game.

Bravo starred against MI, Watson scored a fantastic hundred against the Royals, Billings stole the show against KKR and Rayudu played one of the best innings of his life against Sunrisers.

Suresh Raina has been a driving force in the middle order as he has contributed almost every game.

The bowling looks settled with the blend of good Indian and overseas players. And all above, MS Dhoni has led the team as well as ever. All these have helped Chennai to get back to their old form and consistency in no time after the 2-year ban.

Royal Challengers, on the other hand, are going through all sorts of problems every match. There is a new thing in the air that, there is immense pressure on AB de Villiers and Kohli to score runs regularly.

And fair to say so, that is true as the pair hasn't been on top of the bowlers this season like the previous years.

Quinton DeKock hasn't really fired, and Brendon McCullum has been seating out for the last two games in order to provide the right balance to the side. Corey Anderson has done a fair job so far with the bat and ball. Chahal and Sundar together have not delivered what was expected out of them. The rest of the bowling has had their moments of success, but nothing has really come together. All eyes will be on Umesh Yadav and Chris Woakes to deliver the goods today as the senior members of the squad.

The only good thing for RCB is that they are coming off a victory against the Delhi Daredevils where AB DeVilliers played a gem of an innings for 90 runs from 39 balls.

Chennai maintained their good record as they pulled off a thriller against Sunrisers in Hyderabad by just four runs. Dwayne Bravo and Shardul Thakur's tight death overs bowling ensured that CSK gets 8 points from 5 games along with a healthy run rate.

Team news:

Chennai Super Kings: The whistle podu team have ticked all the boxes this season so far. There are hardly any chances that they will make any changes. Faf DuPlesis played his first match this year against Sunrisers but couldn't make a huge mark there, but he might still get another go because Imran Tahir is expected to stay out of this game with the illness. The rest of the side looks pretty much settled with Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur maintaining the balance with sharing the new and the old ball respectively.

Jadeja bowled his full quota of overs in the last game for the first time this year so he alongside Karn Sharma will handle the spin bowling department. The batting depth gives CSK an edge in this contest. Hence, it is likely that they will go unchanged in this match.

Royal Challengers Bangalore:

RCB found the right balance in the last game with batting depth and bowling options. Should McCullum come in place of DeKock is still a question to be answered.

If that happens, Parthiv Patel will be seen donning the gloves for the first team this season, as McCullum hasn't kept wickets in a quite a long time. The rest of the team will be the same according to the options they have.

Pitch Report:

The pitch at Bengaluru has been the most batting-friendly surface this season, as it is expected to be that way. So, it is safe to say we have a high scoring thriller on the cards tonight.

Weather Report:

Rain will stay away for tonight in the city according to the weather reports. But, the humidity is expected to be higher than usual.

Predictions: Should RCB and CSK bat well, we will see some fireworks tonight and a cracker of a game.

The match will be broadcasted live on Star Sports network with Hindi and English commentary.

The live streaming can be seen in multiple languages on Hotstar.com.
