Most of the superstars in the league have prioritized winning over money, which led to big-name players joining fellow All-Stars in one team. Will Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo be the next player to jump into a title-contending team to have a better chance of winning a title?

Giannis Antetokounmpo likes the Golden State Warriors

Antetokounmpo is one of the rising superstars in the league. Talks about a possible move to Golden State started when “Greek Freak” had a conversation with Warriors superstar Steph Curry. The Bucks superstar was seen in a video telling Curry that he loves how the Warriors are playing, citing how the team is having fun in games.

“I love the way you guys play, man,” Antetokounmpo was seen telling Curry in a video posted on the official 2018 NBA All-Star Twitter account. “You guys look like you’re having fun out there.”

Curry then gave Antetokounmpo a piece of advice, telling the 23-year-old forward that he needs to get better every year. The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player added that the success of the team will depend on how the leader is leading the charge, and how he is making sure every player is getting credit for what they are doing.

Curry made it no secret that he admires Antetokounmpo’s game, which was the reason why he selected the Greek superstar as his first pick for the 2018 NBA All-Star game. The recent conversation was viewed by some fans as a casual recruitment by Curry.

Will Antetokounmpo team up with Curry in Golden State?

If Antetokounmpo wants to play for the Golden State Warriors, he cannot sign directly with the team in the next four years. The All-Star forward is just in the first season of his four-year, $100 million contract with the Bucks. The only way he can join the Warriors soon is through a trade, which will be easier said than done.

However, Bucks fan need not worry at this point because Antetokounmpo appears to be happy in Milwaukee. In fact, on several occasions, he expressed desire to carve his path to greatness in Milwaukee.

In 2014, he posted on Twitter that he wants to win a championship in Milwaukee, followed by another Twitter post in July last year, saying that he “got loyalty” inside his DNA.

As for the temptation of playing for a bigger city, Antetokounmpo told The New York Times late last year that he does not like flashy cities.

Antetokounmpo also expressed why he wants to stay in Milwaukee for good. He expressed gratitude to the fans, and said that Milwaukee is the perfect city for him to play in.

“I can feel the love from the city every day I step on the floor,” he said. “For me, what I’m going through now, I appreciate it even more.”
