With the Winter Olympics coming to a close, members of the Trump administration are in PyeongChang, South Korea to represent the presidential delegation. After several tweets were sent out by Ivanka Trump and Sarah Huckabee Sanders, critics wasted no time firing back.
Hanging out with amazing American athletes and their families as we get ready to watch USA in the men’s 4-man bobsleigh finals. Go TeamUSA! 🇺🇸 #TeamUSA #WinterOlympics #PyeongChang2018 pic.twitter.com/ugnu3nLRJP

Olympic fallout
When the 2018 Winter Olympics kicked off earlier this month, the games quickly became political in the United States due to the feud between openly gay American figure skater Adam Rippon and Vice President Mike Pence.
Rippon was vocal with his criticism of Pence due to the vice president's well-documented history of opposing LGBT rights. Since then, First Daughter Ivanka Trump has come under fire due to her own presence at the Olympics in representation of the United States.

With the closing ceremonies getting ready to take place, Ivanka Trump, as well as Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders who has also been in attendance, decided to post multiple tweets about their experience.
"Hanging out with amazing American athletes and their families as we get ready to watch USA in the men’s 4-man bobsleigh finals. Go Team USA!" Ivanka tweeted out, while attaching pictures of herself with various American Olympians.
"Such an honor to meet Olympian lagibbs84 - not only an incredible athlete but such an impressive person.
Can’t wait to see what she conquers next. And I’m Happy to hold your Silver Medal for you anytime!" Sanders posted in reference to Lauren Gibbs of Team USA's bobsled team. After the two continued their posts on social media, those who oppose the administration didn't hold back their thoughts.
Twitter reaction
In response to the tweets sent out by Ivanka Trump and Sarah Huckabee Sanders, social media went viral in opposition.
"The world hate us and root against us in Winter Olympics this year because of you and your disgraceful family. Leave us alone. Let us at least enjoy the Olympics without a Trump tainting the experience for the American people," one tweet read.
Aww so fun! Did you hang out with the families of the kids killed in a school shooting too? You know, the one your silence is so deafening about? Oh and why aren’t you and hubby unable to get a security clearance

Olympic athletes have to wait 2+hours for Ivanka and her staff/makeup team to arrive at mountain photo shoot.

Sarah, you have repeatedly used your platform to insult African American citizens & to support Trump's attacks on us. You were only nice to Gibbs because she was an Olympic medalist. We know how you really feel about black people. We're citizens too.

You should be honored to meet the members of the White House press corps every day. Journalists that fight to keep our democracy safe by acting as a check on the Executive Branch. You shouldn’t be having fun at the Olympics at taxpayer expense. Do your job, you work for us.

"Gee, Sarah!
You're a gem! Golly, you get a free trip to the Olympics, and since you're with Kremlin Barbie, people feel that they have to talk to you. Glad I could help pay for this trip with Syrian blood," a tweet read in response to Sarah Huckabee Sanders. "Sarah, you have repeatedly used your platform to insult African American citizens & to support Trump's attacks on us. You were only nice to Gibbs because she was an Olympic medalist.
