Will the rich get richer in the coming months? The Golden State Warriors are still reportedly looking to bolster their roster, despite having arguably the best lineup in the NBA today.
The Warriors are looking to make moves not only this season but also in the offseason to strengthen their already-loaded roster. They currently have the best record in the league at 40-11, but the defending champions appear determined to dominate.

The New Orleans Pelicans lost DeMarcus Cousins to a season-ending injury. The injury did not only hurt their playoff chances this season, but it could also become an additional reason for Anthony Davis to consider leaving.
According to Sean Deveney of the Sporting News, one general manager said that the Pelicans should now consider trading Davis – either before the deadline or next summer. Davis is under contract until the 2020-2021 season, but most analysts are convinced the superstar might eventually force his way out of New Orleans.
In fact, several teams are already preparing to pursue a trade, including the Warriors.
Golden State might avoid making moves before the deadline in order to keep room for a possible Davis trade in the offseason.
Aside from the Warriors, the Chicago Bulls and the San Antonio Spurs are reportedly eyeing a deal for the Pelicans superstar next summer. The Boston Celtics are also continuously being linked to the five-time NBA All-Star.
However, it remains to be seen whether or not New Orleans will decide to move on and go for a full rebuild after this season. It could also depend on Cousins’ free-agency decision and the possible transactions New Orleans will make to build a formidable team in the upcoming months.
Golden State Warriors getting veteran help for playoff run
While waiting to make a splash next summer, the Warriors might turn to veteran players who could help them in their playoff run this season.
According to Marc Stein of New York Times, Golden State will keep an eye on buyout candidates after the trade deadline.
Vince Carter could be on their radar and they will likely sign the veteran if the Sacramento Kings decide to buy his contract out. Acquiring Carter will not turn a lot of heads, but it could work wonders for both parties.
Carter, who is playing in 20th season in the league, would get a strong chance to win a title before retiring. On the other hand, the Warriors would add another scorer without the need to break the bank for an expensive free agent.
