The WWE rumors heading into the 2018 Royal Rumble are starting to gain steam in terms of which superstar will win the big match this January. The odds have been out for quite some time on which stars are favored to claim the famed title in Philadelphia, however, now that one of the most popular online sportsbooks has released their odds on the big event, fans who like to wager on WWE events are calculating the possibilities.
WWE odds favor...
The popular gaming website 5Dimes has released odds on who will be the last man standing at the 2018 Royal Rumble.
Front and center is WWE superstar John Cena. Cena is listed as the man to beat at +260 odds at 5Dimes sportsbook to be the overall match winner. If you don’t know what that means or how the odds work it is simple.
A wager of $100 on Cena would now pay out $260 if he wins the Royal Rumble in 2018. Thus, you would get your $100 original wager back, plus profit $260. Now, if you think people must be out of their minds to wager on the WWE, you're not alone. However, you would be surprised at how many fans do!
Right behind Cena on the odds board is current WWE Intercontinental Champion Roman Reigns and SmackDown Live’s Shinsuke Nakamura. These two are both listed at +275. In fourth place is current WWE Champion AJ Styles at +575, followed by Seth Rollins at +875.
However, if you believe someone besides these five WWE stars could win the 2018 Royal Rumble, you may want to wager a dollar or two on it. The odds only get bigger for each contestant, with the highest belonging to Barack Obama at +1000. Yes, that Barack Obama!
The prop bet field is growing
The number of contestants on the odds board for the Royal Rumble just keeps growing.
Longshots for the main event now include UFC fighter Conor McGregor at 100/1, former WWE legend Steve Austin at 150/1, the one and only Hulk Hogan is listed at 200/1 and President Donald Trump is set at 750/1. The odds of Barack Obama or Donald Trump ever even stepping foot into the building, let alone getting into the ring during the Royal Rumble are realistically slim to none.
However, fans who enjoy wagering on the WWE do not care.
One more hot prop bet for the 2018 Royal Rumble involves UFC fighter Ronda Rousey. Rousey, who has been rumored to be heading to the WWE fulltime for several months now may be making her debut at the rumble. She is currently listed at 150/1 odds to win the big event. While several outlets are reporting that Rousey and the WWE cannot come to an agreement on a contract, maybe they are trying to keep things under wraps so Rousey can make her permanent long-awaited debut at this big upcoming event.
The 2018 Royal Rumble will take place on January 28 from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA.
