It was a noteworthy weekend in baseball. Shohei Ohtani decided to join the Angels on Friday (Dec. 8) and National League MVP Giancarlo Stanton was traded to the New York Yankees on Saturday (Dec. 9) from the Miami Marlins.

While those two transactions dominated the headlines, they weren't the only recent moves. Here are the free-agent signings that occurred from December 8-10.

Luke Gregerson - St. Louis Cardinals

Gregerson, a right-handed reliever, joins the Cardinals on a two-year, $11 million deal. Gregerson spent 2017 with the Houston Astros and made 65 appearances out of the bullpen. He went 2-3 with a 4.57 ERA in 61 innings. He struck out 70 hitters and had a 1.34 WHIP.

The 33-year-old has pitched nine seasons with the San Diego Padres, Oakland Athletics, and Astros. In 623 career appearances (zero starts), Gregerson is 35-36 with a 3.02 ERA and also has saved 66 games.

He has pitched 599 career innings, struck out 607 batters, and has a career 1.08 WHIP.

Brandon Morrow - Chicago Cubs

The 33-year-old Morrow has agreed to a two-year deal to play for the Cubs. The monetary value of the deal is not yet known as of Sunday night (Dec. 10). The right-hander was very valuable out of the Los Angeles Dodgers bullpen in 2017. In 45 appearances (zero starts), he went 6-0 with a 2.06 ERA. He finished the season with 50 strikeouts and a 0.92 WHIP in 43.2 innings.

Morrow has pitched 11 years in the majors with the Seattle Mariners, Toronto Blue Jays, San Diego Padres, and Dodgers. He has appeared in 299 games (113 starts) and owns a career 51-43 record and 4.05 ERA. In 828.1 innings, he has a 1.32 WHIP and 846 strikeouts.

Chris Iannetta - Colorado Rockies

Iannetta will rejoin his former team, the Rockies, on a two-year deal worth $8.5 million. The catcher appeared in 89 games with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2017. In 316 plate appearances, he batted .254 with 17 home runs, 19 doubles, 43 RBIs, and 38 runs.

Turning 35 on April 8, Iannetta has played 12 seasons and 1,035 games in the majors with the Rockies, Angels, Mariners, and Diamondbacks. In 3,729 career plate appearances, the right-handed hitter has a .231 batting average with 124 home runs, 158 doubles, 445 RBIs, and 393 runs.

Shohei Ohtani - Los Angeles Angels

The very sought-after Ohtani will join the Angels likely as both a right-handed pitcher and a left-handed hitter.

Playing in Japan for the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters in 2017, he made five starts on the mound, going 3-2 with a 3.20 ERA. He struck out 29 hitters in 25.1 innings and had a 1.26 WHIP. In 231 plate appearances as a hitter, he batted .332 with eight home runs, 16 doubles, 31 RBIs, and 24 runs.

The 23-year-old has played the last five years for the Ham Fighters. Ohtani has pitched in 85 games (82 starts) and owns a 42-15 record and a 2.52 ERA. He has pitched 543 innings with 624 strikeouts and a 1.08 WHIP. In his 1,170 plate appearances in Japan, he hit for a .286 average with 48 home runs, 70 doubles, 166 RBIs, and 150 runs.
