The latest episode of WWE "Raw" took place on Monday night with "The Big Dog" Roman Reigns getting a championship opportunity against The Miz. However, Reigns opportunity was interrupted by a duo of heels, and it wasn't Miz's Miztourage. The latest attack angle seems to be setting up the ongoing WWE rumors of a big Shield reunion for the next pay-per-event.

Reigns vs. Miz

Roman Reigns was booked for a WWE Intercontinental Championship match against The Miz on tonight's "Raw" episode. As usual, Miz brought his cronies, The Miztourage, to ringside for the match and they did a mock entrance through the crowd, just like The Shield used to.

However, Roman Reigns got some retribution before the bell even rang. He would attack both Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel, using a steel chair on each of them. He hit a Superman Punch on Bo Dallas after taking down Curtis Axel up on stage. All of that resulted with trainers coming out to check on the two men.

The match began after a commercial break and lasted just over 11 minutes. Reigns started to make a comeback late after Miz had been in control. Miz managed to avoid the Superman Punch and hit a Skull Crushing Finale for the near fall.

Reigns kicked out and then hit a Superman Punch. Miz kicked out of that at the last second. Reigns set up for the Spear, but Sheamus and Cesaro showed up from ringside to yank Reigns out of the ring.

After the match was called due to a disqualification, Sheamus and Cesaro continued to attack Reigns. He would fight back once inside the ring, but The Miz hit him from behind.

All three heels kept up the beatdown, and eventually, they mocked The Shield with a Triple Powerbomb before doing The Shield's fist bump pose.

'TLC' pay-per-view?

It would seem that the WWE rumors of a reunion for The Shield are close to coming true. The mocking of the group would seem to indicate that there is a match in the works.

Rumors have been suggesting a winner takes all title match at the "TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs 2017" pay-per-view. That would mean if Reigns and The Shield (Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins) win, then Reigns would also capture the WWE Intercontinental Championship. It's also possible he'll win it ahead of any PPV match by getting a rematch on WWE "Raw."

The poster for the WWE "TLC" pay-per-view was also recently revealed (seen above) and it shows The Shield trio side by side together on the front. Now it seems like all that is needed is an actual confirmation on "Raw" that the group is back together.
