Week seven in the NFL is fast approaching, but many teams are still figuring out which players will be ready to go. Injuries have taken away some of the NFL's best stars this season, and that could happen again this week. The injury report is longer for some teams, with many players dealing with injuries at this point in the season. What is the biggest injury news for week seven? Who could possibly miss more than a week?
Andrew Luck
The Indianapolis Colts' biggest injury news is Andrew Luck, who hasn't even suited up for a game this season. Luck has been dealing with complications from offseason shoulder surgery, started to make progress as he began throwing the football and taking part in light practices.
The news didn't get better Wednesday, as Luck has been shut down from throwing because of soreness in that shoulder. He was given a cortisone shot to reduce the pain, but this isn't good news for the Colts. Luck wasn't going to play against the Jaguars anyway, but now the question looms of Luck should be shut down for the rest of the season. The Colts are 2-4 and don't look to be making any kind of playoff push, so it'd be smart for the Colts to shut him down and let him get fully healthy.
Kelvin Benjamin
The Carolina Panthers are holding their breath to see if Kelvin Benjamin is ready to go Sunday after he left Wednesday's practice with a knee injury. Benjamin has been dealing with the injury since week three against the New Orleans Saints.
He has managed to play through it, ranking third on the team in receptions. He was able to walk off the field under his own power and was listed as a non-participant. This is the same knee that suffered an ACL tear, ending his season in 2015. Linebacker Luke Kuechly is still under the concussion protocol and rode the stationary bike during practice.
His status for Sunday is uncertain.
DeMarco Murray
Tennessee Titans running back DeMarco Murray sat out of Wednesday's practice because of a strained hamstring he suffered in their Monday night win against the Colts. This is his third hamstring issue in a few months so the Titans will be watching him closely. QB Marcus Mariota is getting closer to being his normal self after being hampered by the hamstring in the Monday night game as well.
Other notable injuries include Aaron Rodgers who will be replaced by Bret Hundley after breaking his collarbone in his throwing shoulder. Josh Norman could play in the Redskins Monday night matchup with the Eagles after missing time with a fractured rib. Stefon Diggs is battling a hamstring injury that could hold him out of Sunday's game against the Ravens.
