Dwyane Wade is one of the greatest shooting guards of all time and has had a spectacular career up until this point. His spectacular career is proven with three NBA championships (2006, 2012, 2013), a Finals MVP in 2006, a scoring title in 2009 and 12 all-star appearances to his collection. Wade now nearing the end of his career is looking for another chance at an NBA championship, and this time with a familiar player, LeBron James. He rejected offers from teams such as the San Antonio Spurs, Oklahoma City Thunder, Miami Heat and gave up $8 million to play for the defending Eastern Conference champions.

This was an opportunity Dwyane Wade has expressed he is glad he took, and it gives him the best chance at being on the big stage once again before his career comes to an end. Wade has notioned that he has missed the bright lights of the NBA Finals and playing for a title. But now he once again gets that opportunity, playing with LeBron James, Kevin Love, Isaiah Thomas, Derrick Rose and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

D-Wade is ready for another title

Dwyane Wade is pretty familiar with winning NBA championships, running alongside Shaquille O’Neal in 2006, he got the job done over the Dallas Mavericks in six games. He then brought together the infamous big three of himself, LeBron James and Chris Bosh who won back-to-back championships in 2012 and 2013.

Defeating two elite teams and franchises, the Oklahoma City Thunder with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook and the San Antonio Spurs with Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard. But after the King left South Beach in 2014 to return to his beloved hometown of Cleveland, Wade has had little postseason success. And after returning to his own hometown for a season, he is ready to feel that success once again.

He spoke about his intentions when he chose to sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and what he looks forward to:

“I look forward to reuniting and playing alongside my brother LeBron. We’ve already won two championships together, and I hope we win a third.”

Can they do it once again?

The duo of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade is arguably one of the greatest in NBA history.

This being due to their on and off the court chemistry. As Dwyane stated, their friendship is huge, but the biggest reason they keep finding themselves playing alongside each other is that they’re pretty good basketball players too.

After four years in Miami, they were known as one of the best duos ever after winning two championships in four finals appearances together. But now they have an opportunity to further their greatness as a pair. The Cleveland Cavaliers have one of the most talented rosters in recent memory, with multiple all-star talents, it seems this is a time when they have a great chance at winning another championship. The only thing in their way is the stacked powerhouse in San Francisco, but we will see if they can get the job done.
