The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Dallas Mavericks with the score 117-111 on Wednesday at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The Mavericks had a hard time making shots; they shot only 44.2 percent from the field, 37.8 percent on three-pointers, and 85.7 percent from the Free Throw Line. Rookie Taurean Prince had a solid game against the Mavericks, scoring 10 points, dishing out one assist, and snatching 10 rebounds in 26 minutes. The Atlanta Hawks start off the season with a key win against Dallas.
Smith Jr. records a double-double

played his first NBA game against the Atlanta Hawks, and he had one amazing debut game. Dennis was able to contribute 16 points (team high), three rebounds, and 10 assists (team high) in 30 minutes. He shot 50 percent from the field, 25 percent from beyond the arc, and 75 percent from the free throw line. Smith played a lot of minutes against the Hawks; this was because Seth Curry is still recovering from his injury. Dennis Smith Jr. is showing everyone that Ben Simmons and Lonzo Ball are not the only rookies to watch. Three rookies have already recorded a double-double, Dennis Smith Jr, Ben Simmons, and Jason Tatum.
Nerlens Noel grabs 11 rebounds
Despite the loss, Nerlens Noel looked amazing on Wednesday against the Atlanta Hawks.
He contributed 16 points, 11 rebounds, one steal, and three blocks in just 20 minutes. He was perfect from the field; he went 6-0f-6 from the field and 4-of-4 from the free throw line. The Mavericks will need to do their best to win games against subpar teams in the east because the western conference teams are looking very tough this season.
Harrison Barnes and Nerlens Noel will have to step up and be more aggressive in their upcoming games so that they can get a win.
DeWayne Dedmon grabs seven rebounds
DeWayne Dedmon played an amazing game last night for the Atlanta Hawks. He contributed nine points, seven rebounds, one assist, and three blocks in 26 minutes. Dedmon was 3-of-6 from the field and 3-of-4 from the free throw line.
Dedmon grabbed a key offensive rebound late in the fourth quarter which helped the Hawks seal the deal against the Mavericks.
Dennis Schroder scores 28 points
Dennis Schroder had an incredible game as he led the Hawks in scoring. He contributed 28 points, two rebounds, seven assists, and two steals in 27 minutes. He shot 50 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arc, and 50 percent from the free throw line against the Dallas Mavericks.
