Odell Beckham Jr. established himself as one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. He became famous all around the world after he made a one-handed catch against the Dallas Cowboys in a Sunday Night Football game. He was drafted by the Giants in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of LSU. He broke numerous rookie records in his first season with the Giants despite missing first four games because of an injury. He continued to perform well after his rookie season, as he was selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his three seasons in the NFL and was a second-team All-Pro twice.

Beckham has been fined for his dog celebration

Odell Beckham Jr. is a fantastic player, but that is not the only thing he is known for. In his NFL career, he got in a fight with Josh Norman, he kicked a net on the sidelines, he punched a wall after a loss to the Green Bay Packers in the last year's playoffs, etc. This time he has been fined for the way he celebrated a touchdown on Sunday in a match against the NFC East rivals the Philadelphia Eagles. ESPN's Dan Graziano reported that the Giants' star receiver was fined $12,154 by the NFL because he celebrated a touchdown by mimicking a dog urinating on a fire hydrant. Beckham was penalized 15 yards for excessive celebration. Earlier this week Beckham told reporters that he doesn't regret his actions, only that his team was penalized 15 yards.

Is Odell Beckham Jr. worth the distractions he brings?

Odell is a fantastic player, there is no doubt about that. But, he also brings a lot of distractions with him because of his off-field antics. In his four seasons in the NFL, he has already been fined $221,546. After the game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the New York Giants' owner John Mara stated that he was upset with Odell's actions.

According to Mike Vaccaro of the New York Posts, John Mara said that he is unhappy because of Beckham's behavior and that things will be handled internally. The New York Giants are currently sitting at 0-3 record and their fans would love to see Beckham concentrate more on his game than on the celebrations. In two starts this season, Beckham caught 13 passes for 115 yards but failed to lead his team to a victory.

In last year's playoff game vs the Green Bay Packers, Odell played very poorly and failed to lead his team on offense which led fans to wonder about his leadership abilities and if he is worth all the circus he brings to the team. Odell is an amazing player and he is still very young, but he will have to work on his attitude in order to stay relevant in the NFL.
