Ahmed Johnson was once poised to be the biggest star in the WWE but a bad attitude and backstage problems ended his run much sooner than anyone expected. The former WWE superstar talked to The Unsanctioned Podcast this week and had a number of interesting things to say about wrestling, backstage fights, and more.
A fight with The Rock
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is one of the biggest names to ever come out of professional Wrestling and he was part of a faction known as The Nation of Domination early in his career. That group, a black militant faction, feuded with Ahmed Johnson, who refused to join up with them.
However, it turns out the feuding took place backstage as well.
According to Ahmed Johnson, Triple H and Shawn Michaels came into the locker room making racial jokes about African Americans. They looked over and saw The Rock and apologized for the jokes. The Rock then allegedly said that he wasn't black because his mom had an affair with a white guy, who was his real dad.
Ahmed then walked around and approached The Rock. Johnson said that he said The Rock's dad, Rocky Johnson, busted his butt to make sure guys like them could wrestle in the WWE and he was disrespectful. Ahmed then said The Rock got cocky and the two of them started to fight until other wrestlers broke it up.
Ahmed on his thoughts on Vince McMahon
When asked about The New Day and their current status in the WWE, Ahmed Johnson said that it was an embarrassment. Johnson asked if one of them had a doctorate degree (that would be Xavier Woods) and then said that Vince McMahon had them acting like a "clown on a clown car."
Ahmed said that when it comes to black stars, it is all "shucking and jiving" for Vince McMahon.
Johnson said that someone like Xavier Woods could be so much more, suggesting that with his intelligence he could be a black wrestling Clarence Mason.
It sounds like Ahmed Johnson is nowhere near ready to bury the hatchet with Vince McMahon after the way his WWE stint ended. When asked if he would welcome closure with McMahon, he said that he would like closure "as a man" and "as a Christian."
However, as far as "kissing your behind," Ahmed Johnson said that will never happen so he doesn't see closure coming between him and Vince McMahon in the WWE.
In the interview, Ahmed Johnson also talked about former wrestling manager Teddy Long calling him an idiot. Johnson said he never met the WWE Hall of Famer, but if he did, he would slap him in the face.
