Carlo Ancelotti has been one of the most successful coaches over the last three decades. In his career, he coached Parma, Juventus, Real Madrid, Milan, Chelsea, Paris Saint Germain, and Bayern Munich. Ancelotti is the only manager in history to have won the Champions League three times and to have played in the finals four times. He led Real Madrid to its tenth Champions League title and has won domestic titles in every country he has coached in.
He is known for having good relationships with players he has worked with and for being a great gentleman on a Soccer pitch.
Ancelotti has been sacked by Bayern Munich
Carlo Ancelotti has been fired from Bayern Munich. The German team confirmed on its Facebook account that Carlo Ancelotti won't be coaching the team anymore. Ancelotti started coaching Bayern after Pep Guardiola decided to go to Manchester City in 2016. He led the team to its fifth consecutive title in the Bundesliga but lost in the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League to Real Madrid in a highly controversial match.
Bayern also failed to win the DFP-Pokal as they lost to Borussia Dortmund in the semi-final.
This season has been far from good for Bayern, as they are ranked third in the Bundesliga. It was obvious that something is wrong with the team when Arjen Robben criticized the team after a 3-0 win against Anderlecht in week one of the Champions League. On Wednesday Bayern was destroyed by PSG in week two of the Champions League and it was clear that something has to change. Until they find a replacement for Ancelotti, his assistant Willy Sagnol will be the coach of Bayern.
Ancelotti back to AC Milan?
AC Milan has spent a lot of money on players in the off-season but they have been playing very poorly since the beginning of the season. They are currently ranked sixth in the SERIE A and may be looking to change their coach.
Vincenzo Montella is on the hot seat and according to the Italian media, Milan has already contacted Ancelotti about a possible return to the team. Ancelotti won the Champions League with Milan twice and the SERIE A once. He left Milan on great terms and their fans would love to see him on the bench again.
Thomas Tuchel will succeed Ancelotti?
As soon as it was announced that Ancelotti won't be coaching Bayern anymore, rumors about Bayern's next manager started to spread. According to the reports by the Guardian, former Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel is the favorite to be the next coach of Bayern Munich. Tuchel was fired from Borussia at the end of the last season. Hoffenheim's Julian Nagelsmann is reportedly also in the race for Ancelotti's spot, but there is also a possibility that Willy Sagnol stays the coach if he does a good job while he is temporarily in charge.
