While the Mlb Postseason is still a month away, it's never too soon to start thinking about who would win in given scenarios. When looking at each team's home and away records, it could make a huge difference in who wins a series. As of now, these are the best home and away records for the teams that are currently set to make the playoffs if the season ended today.

Los Angeles Dodgers: 51-14 at home

How scary is that? It's nearly the end of August, and the Dodgers have lost only 14 games at home. The New York Mets have lost 36 times at home. The Dodgers have the best record in baseball that includes a 36-21 mark on the road, which is surprisingly not the best road record in baseball.

More on that in a moment.

Washington Nationals: 39-23 on the road

The Nationals are a dangerous road team, which is why a Nationals vs Dodgers matchup would make MLB junkies drool. The best road team in the National League against the best home team would be an epic match. The Nationals play pretty well at home too, as they are 35-25.

Chicago Cubs: 34-28 at home

The Cubs have no records that really stand out. They seem very average. The Cubs are 32-29 at home. You can't count out the defending World Series champs though. They took down the Dodgers last season at home and away, sot there's no reason they can't do it again.

Colorado Rockies: 38-25 at home

The Rockies need Home Field Advantage in the wild card game.

The Rockies have not played well on the road, proven by their 30-31 mark. The team would likely play the Arizona Diamondbacks unless an epic collapse happens, and their road record is even worse.

Arizona Diamondbacks: 39-23 at home

Notice the similarities? Both the Rockies and Diamondbacks thrive off their home crowds. The Diamondbacks are a dismal 28-34 on the road.

The race for home field advantage is the true story of the wild card race as both of these teams have held the position all year. However, the Milwaukee Brewers are just 2.5 games back of Arizona.

Houston Astros: 40-21 on the road

If you want to win in the playoffs, you need to be able to win on the road. The Astros have the American League's best mark on the road.

The team is 36-27 at home. Can you imagine how much better they will be if they swipe Justin Verlander from the Detroit Tigers?

Boston Red Sox: 40-22 at home

This is the replica of a Dodgers and Nationals series. You would take the best road team in the AL and pin them against the best home team. The Red Sox are just 31-30 on the road, so Fenway Park is more important than most think.

Cleveland Indians: 37-27 on the road

The Indians are another impressive road team. They are just 31-27 at home, which is shocking because the fans love the Indians. If the season ended today, the Indians would play the Red Sox, which would still be an interesting matchup.

New York Yankees: 35-22 at home

The Yankees home record is important to remember because their road record is atrocious.

Sitting at 31-35, it gives more reason for the Yankees to hold onto home field advantage. The Yankees hold a 2.5 game lead over the los angeles angels.

Los Angeles Angels: 33-26 at home

It's going to be a dogfight for the last wild card spot. The Minnesota Twins are just 0.5 games out, while the Kansas City Royals and Seattle Mariners are 1.5 games out. Anyways, the Angels are 31-34 on the road, and will need that record to improve just to stay in the playoff picture.
