Just a few days ago, we had one of the biggest trades this summer as the Cleveland Cavaliers agreed to a trade with the Boston Celtics. The Cavaliers finally sent Kyrie Irving to another team, which is what he wanted as he demanded a trade last month. In exchange for the All-Star point guard, the Cavaliers got isaiah thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and the first-round pick in next year's draft which the Celtics acquired from the Brooklyn Nets.

It seems that this trade benefits both teams, as well as Kyrie Irving. Irving is finally on a team where he can be the first option, and the Cavaliers got a few valuable pieces in return.

Considering that Cleveland received Irving's replacement in Thomas, a defensive specialist in Crowder and a valuable draft pick, they are the trade winners.

However, the trade is not official yet, and the Cavaliers might decide to void it. This would be quite a shock, but it would make sense since it seems that Isaiah Thomas is still injured.

The Cavaliers willing to void the deal

Even though the teams have agreed to the deal, it hasn't been officially done yet, and teams could still prevent it from happening. That is what the Cavaliers want to do if it turns out that Isaiah Thomas' injury is really bad. Thomas underwent physical yesterday and the Cavaliers are evaluating his injured hip.

While this trade makes the Cavaliers slightly better than they were last season, there is a big chance that it will not be finalized.

Thomas is a great player and Cleveland would benefit from his presence on the court as he's a fantastic scorer. However, his injury might be a big issue and the team just cannot afford to have such a big injury problem as they are trying to win a championship next season.

If this trade gets canceled, the situation in Boston will be very awkward.

Isaiah Thomas didn't want to be traded, yet the Celtics shipped him to Cleveland. On the other side, the Cavaliers won't have big issues since it was Irving's wish to leave the team.

Isaiah Thomas' injury

Thomas suffered the injury during Game 2 of Eastern Conference Finals this year. Coincidentally, he played against the Cleveland Cavaliers when he suffered it, and he was ruled out for the remainder of the playoffs.

The Celtics were no match for the Cavaliers and they ended up losing to the reigning conference champions in five games. It seems that this game could be the last game for Isaiah Thomas in a Celtics uniform, but things could change if Cleveland decides to void the trade.
