The Boston Celtics seem to be all set in becoming an NBA "super-team," they are trying all possibilities to get a hold of some great players. If Boston manages to do so, they will soon have a strong NBA "super-team." It appears that they are still on the look out and one possible candidate is Anthony Davis from the new orleans Pelicans.
Rumors have been swirling around the Celtics ever since the NBA Draft night, Davis going to the Celtics has also been in talks for a long time. The question is if the Celtics will strike a deal with the Pelicans to acquire their star, Anthony Davis.
The Pelicans have been holding Davis in the NBA league since 2012. It has been five years that Davis is playing for the Pelicans.
What will the Celtics gain if they acquire Davis?
The Boston Celtics are always looking possible outcomes, where they will stand a chance of completing the trade for sure. Previously they might have missed some options like Paul George, but they have always wanted to get those unique players that will suit best for the team. Davis to the Celtics will be a blockbuster deal and exactly what the team would need to form their future NBA "super-team."
Recently, the have landed Gordon Hayward on the team, and they just want to make another step further to achieve their goal.
Trading for Anthony Davis will be a huge benefit for the Celtics, but it also depends on what will Danny Ainge give back in return to the Pelicans.
Darius Miller is back to the New Orleans Pelicans
The Pelicans will not give up Davis to the Celtics so easily as they will want to see a great match for Davis. On the other hand, Darius Miller is back to the USA and he has agreed to deal with the New Orleans Pelicans.
That said, Miller will be returning to join DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis.
Miller has played with Cousins and Davis earlier, back in the 2009-10 season Cousins and Miller was on the same team. Later on, when Anthony Davis joined the Pelicans in 2011, he played alongside Darius Miller in the NCAA championship. The Pelicans might have second thoughts on trading Anthony because of Miller's return.
Both of them including DeMarcus Cousins is believed to have had a great partnership.
The Boston Celtics have potential players on their team and Ainge will not be ready to loose some of their key players. If a trade deal is worked out between the Celtics and the Pelicans the only player that the Celtics might be interested in acquiring will be Anthony Davis.
