The first day of the 2017 NBA Orlando Summer League had four games on the slate. There were plenty of players looking to show their skills, as they auditioned for possible roster spots in the coming season. In addition, a few rookies were on display, several of whom were among the top 14 picks in the recent NBA Draft. Among the day's winners were the Charlotte Hornets, Orlando Magic, and Indiana Pacers. Here are the latest scores and top player performances from the first day of Orlando Summer League games.

Hornets & Pacers win

In a report from NBA.com's Fran Blinebury, it was noted that Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat had a good first outing in the summer league action.

The No. 14 pick from the NBA Draft recorded 14 points, 10 boards, and three blocks despite it being in a losing effort to the Charlotte Hornets.

Former VCU teammates Treveon Graham and Briante Weber looked solid as they helped Charlotte win. Graham had 16 points to go with 13 rebounds. Weber finished with 17 points to go with five boards and four steals in the 74-67 win. The Hornets' first-round draft pick Malik Monk was unable to participate due to letting an injury heal, but second-round pick Dwayne Bacon was in action. He scored nine points and had several highlight plays.

The Indiana Pacers, who recently traded their star Paul George, were led by 27-year-old NBA G-League player Travis Leslie.

He had 20 points on 8-for-14 shooting and eight rebounds to lead Indiana to an 84-75 win over the Orlando Magic.

For the losing squad, Orlando first-round draft pick Jonathan Isaac finished with just seven points and eight rebounds, while Marcus Georges-Hunt, Kalin Lucas, and Derrick Walton Jr. each chipped in 10 points apiece.

Thunder & Mavs victorious

The Oklahoma City Thunder are a team that made headlines with the recent Paul George trade. On Saturday, their summer league squad grabbed a close 92-91 victory over the Detroit Pistons' squad. While the Pistons led for the first 37 minutes of the summer game, OKC's team went on a 12-0 run in the fourth and took the lead for the first team with just under three minutes to go.

The Thunder's Vince Hunter had 21 points and seven rebounds while Dakari Johnson had a double-double of 18 points and 10 boards. Former UCONN star Daniel Hamilton put up 17 points along with six rebounds and three assists. On the losing side, the Piston's first-round NBA Draft pick Luke Kennard was in action and recorded 16 points to go with three assists.

The first day's final winner in Orlando was the Dallas Mavericks' squad. They defeated the New York Knicks 80-75, as first round pick Frank Ntilikina did not play. Dwight Buycks scored 16 in the win to go with six assists and four rebounds, while Cat Barber had 14 points, six board, and five assists.

On the losing side, New York was led by Chasson Randle who scored 14 points and Damyean Dotson's near double-double of 10 points and eight rebounds.
