The WWE "Money In The Bank" 2017 pay-per-view will have not only a women's ladder match but also a match for the "SmackDown" women's championship. This past Tuesday's episode of the show revealed details about both matches, including the emergence of a surprising new contender for Naomi's "SmackDown" women's title. Here's all the latest about the big matches planned for the women's division at this upcoming pay-per-view event!

Women's ladder match

It was announced several weeks ago on "SmackDown Live" that there will be a first-time ever women's edition of the "Money in the Bank" ladder match.

The participants for the big match will be Natalya, Carmella, Tamina, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair. Since Carmella's in the match, that probably means James Ellsworth will be hanging around ringside as well.

Just like in the men's versions of these matches, there will be an MITB briefcase hanging above the ring. The first woman in this match to climb up a ladder and pull that briefcase down wins the match. With it, they also win the opportunity to get a women's title shot at any time and any place they choose.

On this past Tuesday's episode of "SmackDown Live," Commissioner Shane Mcmahon came to the ring where the five competitors were to unveil the briefcase. It's a white briefcase with "Money in the Bank" printed on it in green letters.

The current champion Naomi came to the ring saying she wished she could be in the match and mentioned whoever wins has to get through her. However, some new theme music came on to interrupt Naomi's talk.

It was an appearance by the lovely Lana, who now has a burlesque dancer character she's portraying on the show. She tried to convince Shane she should be in the ladder match.

Naomi stepped up and trashed talked Lana a bit, saying she hasn't beat anyone yet. Lana claimed she could beat the champ. Shane said Lana needed to earn the title shot at some point.

Women's title match

Naomi teamed up with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair to take on "The Welcoming Committee" of Natalya, Tamina, and Carmella.

The match was pretty even throughout, with the women's champ gaining control at one point. However, Lana decided to get involved based on the earlier trash talk from Naomi. With the champ on the apron, Lana swiped her leg to trip her. That led to Tamina and the heel team getting a win, much to Naomi's disliking.

Later on, the "SmackDown" Women's champion went backstage and demanded a match from Shane McMahon. That led to the booking of Lana versus Naomi for the title at the upcoming WWE "Money in the Bank" 2017 pay-per-view. Will "The Ravishing Russian" be able to make good on her promise to defeat Naomi, and will she claim the women's title that fast? With Jinder Mahal's win over Randy Orton, anything's possible!
