The latest episode of "Monday Night Raw" took place in Sacramento, California, just a night removed from the big WWE "Payback" pay-per-view. While Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose was not in action during the event, he played a major part in Monday's "Raw" episode, helping to set up a Triple Threat match to determine a new No. 1 contender for his title. In addition, Alexa Bliss's team of heels captured a tag team win, while the WWE Cruiserweights and Apollo Crews were also in action.

Monday's results:

An eight-woman tag team match broke out after Alexa Bliss came out to boast of achieving the "Raw" title and making history as the first to capture that title as well as the "SmackDown" title twice.

Bliss teamed with Emma, Alicia Fox and Nia Jax to take on Bayley, Sasha Banks, Dana Brooke, and Mickie James. The heel team ended up with the win due to a cheap shot to Bayley's eye from Alexa Bliss followed by a DDT for the pin.

Apollo Crews had a backstage discussion with Heath Slater and Rhyno which apparently Crews' new agent Titus O'Neil took exception to. It set up a match where Crews got the win over Slater with a sit-out powerbomb. After the win, Titus got in the ring to snap a selfie with Crews which Rhyno posed in from behind them to photobomb.

Jack Gallager teamed with Rich Swann and Akira Tozawa and made sure his partners each had umbrellas. They took on Noam Dar, Tony Nese, and The Brian Kendrick.

The win came down to Gallagher hitting a running dropkick to put down Brian Kendrick for the pin.

Luke Gallows got a victory over Enzo Amore by pinfall thanks to outside distractions from Karl Anderson. During the match, Enzo suffered a cut above his eyelid.

The Hardy Boyz came out to try to get some actual "payback" after what Sheamus and Cesaro did to them after their "Payback" match.

However, the new hellish duo of Shesaro fled from the ring before Matt or Jeff could get to them.

TJ Perkins asked Cruiserweight champion Neville backstage about the finish at his "Payback" match where he yanked the referee down to cause a DQ. Neville told him to tread carefully because nobody disrespects the "King of Cruiserweights." Later on, Austin Aries captured a win by submission over TJ using the Last Chancery but Perkins attacked him post-match on his bad knee.

Main event match

In the main event, a Triple Threat was set in motion after Seth Rollins and Finn Balor hit the ring wanting a shot at Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship. That brought out Dean Ambrose to say he's the fighting champion on "Raw" right now since Brock's not around. The Miz showed up to say how he was the only one deserving of the title out of all the men in the ring. That ended up setting up a match with Miz vs. Balor vs. Rollins and the winner getting a shot at Ambrose for the title at a later date.

In that main event, outside interference became the big story of the night. Seth Rollins was taken out by his current rival Samoa Joe, just a night after Rollins pinned Joe at WWE "Payback." Finn Balor seemed ready to capture a win over Miz, only for Bray Wyatt to show up and hit Sister Abigail on Balor.

That allowed The Miz to get the easy pinfall for the win.

The main event seems to set in motion the feuds of Balor vs. Wyatt, Rollins vs. Joe and Miz vs. Ambrose for the Intercontinental title. These could take place in the next few weeks on "Raw" and lead up to the "Extreme Rules" pay-per-view, the next exclusive "Raw" event.
