The Memphis Grizzlies took the game four over the San Antonio Spurs in a dramatic game at the FedEx Arena. It was the best game of the playoffs so far, as we witnessed some incredible clutch plays from both of the teams. The Grizzlies controlled the game until the last few minutes of the fourth quarter, when Kawhi Leonard started to show his superstar abilities. But he couldn't do it by himself, as the Grizzlies won the game with two big shots by Mike Conley and Marc Gasol.
Mike Conley had a huge game
Mike Conley definitely became a leader of the Memphis Grizzlies, as he stepped up big in the most important game of the season so far. Conley finished the game with 35 points, nine assists and eight rebounds, while shooting 13 of 23 from the field, 4 of 8 from downtown and 5 of 7 from the free-throw line in 41 minutes on the floor. He also hit the last shot in the regulation to send the game into the overtime, as he tied up the game.
The Grizzlies had an eight-point lead with just a few minutes left on the clock, but then Kawhi Leonard scored 16 straight points for the Spurs to give them the lead.
The Spurs had a 96-94 lead with 12 seconds left, but then Conley hit the floating jump shot to tie the game. Marc Gasol had 16 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists, as he shot 5 of 12 from the field in 45 minutes of play. Gasol also had seven big turnovers, but he turned to be a hero for the Grizzlies, as he hit the last shot with 0.7 seconds left in overtime to give Memphis an 110-108 lead. Zach Randolph added a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Vince Carter had 13 points in 32 minutes on the floor. JaMychal Green also had a solid game off the bench, as he scored 14 points, while shooting 5 of 8 from the field.
Another MVP performance by Kawhi Leonard
The Spurs almost took a 3-1 lead in the series, but the great effort from Kawhi Leonard just wasn't enough.
Leonard hit some big three-pointers to turn the game around, but in the end, he failed to hit the buzzer-beating shot to win the game. He had 43 points, eight rebounds, three assists and six huge steals, while shooting 14 of 30 from the field, 7 of 10 from downtown and perfectly 8 of 8 from the Free Throw Line. Leonard hit all of his free throws in this series so far. Tony Parker added 22 points, four rebounds and five assists for the Spurs, while LaMarcus Aldridge had 13 points and only two rebounds in 41 minutes on the floor.
The next game is on the schedule for Tuesday, as the series will move to San Antonio.
