LeBron James is getting ready for the yearly playoff run with his Cleveland Cavaliers. Sitting at the top of the Eastern Conference, they are looking to once again make it to the NBA finals. As the Regular Season comes to a close, King James has achieved some great milestones this season. Averaging career highs in rebounds and assists and passing many great players on the all time lists, are just a few that come to mind.
But this is the usual season from LeBron, nothing the media and the fans aren't used to. Richard Jefferson recently talked about LeBron being underlooked as the MVP because everyone is so used to seeing his consistent excellence. Well, that consistent excellence is being put on display once again, as LeBron James has outdone himself again, tacking on a new career-high.
What's the career-high?
On Saturday night against the Washington Wizards, LeBron James finished the game with 24 points and 11 rebounds. This was his 37th double double of the season, passing he's previous season record of 36 Double Doubles in the 2012-13 campaign.
The stats tell us this season is King James' best all around season. Compiling a career-high total of 10 triple doubles already is also a personal record for the King. With 10 games left in the regular season campaign, LeBron will likely add to these numbers, and further solidify this as his best all around season of his career.
Getting better with age?
Like fine wine, LeBron James seems to be getting better as he ages. Not from an athletic point of view, but from an IQ, efficiency and all around game perspective. You probably wouldn't have guessed The Chosen One would be averaging career bests, 8.8 APG and 8.4 RPG in his 14th season in the league, also while shooting the third best of his career from the field and second best from beyond the arc. To go along with career highs in triple doubles and double doubles, as mentioned in this article. But if anyone is to defy the odds, it's LeBron James, and he's pretty good at doing it.
