Now that Tony Morina is executive producer of "The Young and the Restless" and Josh Griffith is head writer, they are guaranteeing fans that great storylines and must-see episodes are on the horizon. This new team is working hard to bring back what they consider to have been the glory days in Genoa City when the CBS daytime drama set itself apart from other soaps and climbed to the number one spot in the ratings. Griffith and Morena have already brought back Ashley, Paul, and Adam as well as replacing Gina Tognoni with Michelle Stafford. Spoilers report that Chelsea, Kevin, and Chloe will soon be onscreen.

Surprises coming for 'Y&R' viewers

Celeb Dirty Laundry reports that Josh Griffith and Tony Morina shared their vision for "The Young and the Restless." in an interview with Soap Opera Digest. They want the show to bring forth stories that engage the viewing audience and set the show apart from the other daytime drama's as it did in the early day. Morina and Griffith indicated that there would be shocking character returns, but did not give any clues as to what cast members would be returning Loyal viewers will now be trying to figure out what blasts from the past will show up in Genoa City,

There is a lot of drama and sadness in Genoa City right now related to the Abbott and Newman families.

Dina has been placed in a memory care facility and Abby is frantic to know what is going on with her father's health. On Tuesday, Kyle told Lola that a drunken Summer is spiraling out of control just like her mother Phyllis and Soap Dirt indicates the friction related to Kola and Skyle is about to heat up.

There is nothing, however, in this ball of confusion that indicates a reason why any surprise characters would be brought back to "Y&R."

'Y&R' fans will figure it out

Sharp "Y&R" viewers may be able to figure out who some of the return characters might be, long before spoilers or the writers leak the news. Here are a few possibilities.

Jill and Colin could reunite and come back to Genoa City. Gloria might follow Kevin and Chloe and demand her old job back at Jabot. Reed Helstrom may come home and renew his romance with Mattie or his cousin. Noah Newman may return just in time for his grandfather's health crisis to be revealed.

There could also be former Genoa City residents who come back from the dead like Adam. Soap Dirt and Celeb Dirty Laundry both promise to reveal updated spoiler alerts when new information becomes available.
