Ryan Edwards, former MTV “Teen Mom OG” star, made a court appearance on February 4 for an “initial arraignment.” Pop Culture reported that Edwards was arrested on January 23 and faced a theft charge after he was accused of not paying for whiskey he allegedly drank at Bud’s Sports Bar in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The Hamilton County prosecutor’s office dismissed the theft of services charge, according to Radar Online, as well as a search using the General Sessions Criminal Court website.

Prosecutor dismissed theft charge

Though Edwards can put the theft charge behind him, he will remain in jail for an alleged probation violation, evolving from a separate incident in 2017, when he was accused of heroin possession.

His next court appearance is scheduled for April 15.

Former reality show personality’s aim for sobriety

Edwards checked himself into a residential treatment facility for alleged substance abuse in September 2018. Fans and social media followers were happy to discover that the former “Teen Mom” star did not cut out of rehab prematurely, but stayed the full 90 days. He seemed committed to treatment, even missing the October 2018 birth of his first-born son, Jagger, with wife Mackenzie Standifer.

In addition to Mackenzie and his parents Larry and Jen, fans and followers have also expressed support for Edwards’ efforts to take his life in a better direction with sobriety.

He has two sons in his life, along with his wife. He shares his eldest son Bentley with “Teen Mom OG” star Maci Bookout. Bookout is heartbroken about the latest arrest.

Wife unwavering throughout legal problems

Mackenzie’s love and support have been unwavering, even before the duo exchanged wedding vows. Fans likely recall when an MTV camera, mounted inside the vehicle Edwards was driving, appeared to capture an instance when he was under the influence of an unknown substance.

He faded out of consciousness when Mackenzie seemed to turn off the camera. For many people, the situation could have been a deal-breaker, but the love of his life followed-through on the plans to get married.

Her endurance and devotion have been amply tested, as a result of Edwards’ actions, and alleged past marital indiscretions.

Edwards reportedly used the dating app Tinder to arrange hookups with women. Through it all, Mackenzie stands strong and dedicated to him.

Mackenzie draws on positive sources

She seems to draw strength from positive sources, Hollywood Life and the Celebrity Insider pointed out. The same day that her husband was in court, Mackenzie shared a story-post on her Instagram on February 4, quoting Brene Brown, “What we don’t need in the midst of struggle is shame for being HUMAN.”

Parents reportedly ‘enable their son’

Edwards’ parents have reportedly enabled him, according to the Celebrity Insider. Quoting an “insider,” the publication stated, “Jen and Larry have been known to enable their son,” adding, “they often give into him.”

Edwards has had run-ins with the law and his situation has not made it any easier for his parents. OK! Magazine noted, “It’s more of the shock that he’s not coming home for a pretty good while."
