The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting a baby – that is old news, as Kensington Palace made the big announcement in October 2018, five months after Meghan and Harry walked down the aisle. However, Harry, the father-to-be, seemed surprised when a lady in a girl’s school in Asni, Morocco congratulated Meghan on her pregnancy. It was a joke, of course, and it certainly made everyone in the meeting crack a laugh. Official portraits from their wedding were also released.

Harry's joke

The couple was sitting at the end of the table in what seemed to be a routine day for them.

Harry dressed in dark pants and a long-sleeved grey shirt, while Meghan chose a black ensemble covered by a dark purple coat.

One of the women took her time to talk to Meghan directly and congratulate her for the upcoming royal baby that will enlighten the lives of many. When the Duchess thanked her, Harry feigned surprise and said: “What, you’re pregnant?” People laughed and waited for Meghan’s response. She just patted him on the back and said: “Surprise!” Following his own dad joke, Harry added: “Is it mine?”

Some people didn't get it

Even though it was obviously a joke, several people considered it disrespectful, claiming that nobody should ever make the “fatal mistake” of asking such a thing, especially if you are a royal.

The truth is that Harry had no intentions of hurting anybody and he was just trying to be funny during the meeting.

The royals spent three days in Morocco as part of their latest duty.

The intention of that visit was to improve the relationship that both nations have and encourage the different projects the couple has been working on, including gender equality and support of people with special needs.

George Clooney addressing the godparent rumors

Speaking of the baby, many rumors have linked George Clooney as the godfather of the upcoming royal child, due to the fact that Meghan and Amal, the actor’s wife, are close friends.

However, George himself shut down all the rumors while in an interview with "Australia’s Who magazine." When he was asked about it, he said: “Oh yes, I’ll be the godfather of the Royals, apparently.” Markle also recently had a baby shower.

The actor quickly set clear he was being sarcastic, as he said: “No! I’m the father of twins; I have enough s*** to deal with – literally!” At the moment, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are enjoying the last weeks of pregnancy as Markle is expected to give birth in late April or early May. So far, the gender of the child has not been revealed.
