Whether Erin Krakow is relaxing in real life or portraying the ever-resilient teacher, Elizabeth Thornton on “When Calls the Heart,” she always seems to know the perfect way to welcome viewers of the surging Hallmark Channel drama into her world. With millions of Americans braving winter snows and frigid temperatures, what better way could there be to offer a mental vacation than to share striking vistas from sunny Florida?
Erin Krakow spent her Christmas and New Year with her family in Florida, looking ravishing in red for her New Year's Eve. The star, however, just like most of her loyal followers, had to say so long to her days with family and fond memories of another stay back home.
Time really does fly, and it's only a matter of weeks before the February 24 premiere of Season 6 of “When Calls the Heart.”
Some fans may have been surprised or even shocked by the sudden arrival of precious baby Jack in the Christmas Day premiere of “When Calls the Heart: The Greatest Christmas Blessing.” Elizabeth’s pregnancy did leap forward in the storyline, and while there wasn't much time to celebrate expectant Elizabeth on-screen, her story with her infant son, and how he carries the legacy of love inspired by his parents, is sure to be satisfying. All of Hope Valley will be part of his growing years.
It's certain that faithful “Hearties” have the February date circled numerous times on their calendars, but in the meantime, Erin Krakow has some beautiful Instagram posts from January 9 that will chase away any semblance of the chill.
The new season’s trailer, now released is filled with reasons to rejoice for the new mother and many other new arrivals (of various kinds) to the Northwest Territory community.
More than just toes
One of the things that Erin Krakow most enjoyed about portraying pregnant Elizabeth was the costumes created for her by the gifted “When Calls the Heart” designers, as she shared in a behind-the-scenes video special.
The star also enjoyed the feeling of not being corseted and constricted in her maternity attire, and fans will remember how she devoured a cookie on camera and captured the perfect waddle of a mom with a soon-to-be-born baby, whom everyone wanted to touch.
Giving a loving farewell to Florida, Erin had more than just toes in the sand.
She shared a view from her reclining pose, wearing considerably less than Elizabeth Thornton could ever conceive, yet still perfectly tasteful. Part of her lovely toes, looking freshly painted, was bathed in sunlight, as Krakow shared her shoreline vista with the caption, “See you again soon.”
Just days ago, the actress affirmed her love for her home state with a photo of the sky against the ocean water line. It's no surprise that she longs for shore from Vancouver. She also loves and respects the devotion from all her drama’s followers, and knows plenty of reasons why they will love the new adventures to come.
Moving into the future
“When Calls the Heart” set holiday rating records for Christmas with the heart-warming movie treat, according to Deadline, and those calculations bode well for captivating fans throughout Season 6.
In an ET Online interview shared per Michigan's WZZM on January 8, Krakow describes the “love affair” between Elizabeth and baby Jack as both “heartwarming and heart-melting,” and it's not surprising that she looks forward to coming to work each day because “babies are so cute.”
The star comes by her rapport with children quite naturally, having worked as a nanny, and babysitting for friends and family. Friend and co-star, Lori Loughlin, also insists that Krakow “is like a duck to water” with children. She has formed unique relationships with each of the young stars who fill Elizabeth Thornton’s classroom.
As the preview hints, new couples will be making decisive moves in creating their own futures in Hope Valley, and family will remain a prevailing theme, as Kavan Smith declares as Leland Coulter.
The arrival of the telephone appears to create even more stir than the new people in town-- marking another huge step into more modern times.
No matter how things change, there is always a welcome in Hope Valley, and “When Calls the Heart” faithful can hardly wait to welcome the new season.
