The proposed names suggested by Prince Charles would appear to be a break from tradition. There are possibilities that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could follow William and Kate and opt for “a strong royal name.” They are senior and have three children named George, Charlotte and Louis. Meghan and Harry could also follow them.

It seems the two most popular royal names since the reign of Queen Victoria were Albert and Victoria. It is difficult to predict whether Meghan will follow the beaten track or break the tradition. She had indicated in one of her blogs that she considered Grey to be a favorite baby name. This was because it could apply to either a boy or a girl.

According to News AU, a section of bookies in the UK predicts that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will go in for names like Victoria, Arthur, Albert and Diana. However, they are not bound to do this and have the freedom to choose any name since they are further down the royal line of succession. Anyway, it will remain a loosely guarded secret and the royal couple will announce it only after the child is born.

That way they can get the approval of senior members of the royal family such as Queen Elizabeth first.
