Prince Harry and girlfriend Meghan Markle have finally and officially stepped out for their first public appearance together as a couple. The highly anticipated sighting happened at Harry’s Paralympic competition, Invictus Games, which is currently held in Toronto, Canada.

The couple’s public appearance came after more than a year of dating. Considered as one of the world’s most eligible royal bachelor, 33-year-old Prince Harry seems to be trying to keep his relationship with Markle private despite the media and public attention.

Markle was all smiles

Even though Markle and Prince William’s younger brother did not sit together at the 2017 Invictus Games, “Suits” actress showed how supportive she is as a girlfriend. In fact, People noted that the 36-year-old actress was “all smiles” while she was cheering on the athletes at the event.

The publication added that the actress came with her pal, Markus Anderson. According to ABC News, Anderson is the one who introduced the couple a year ago.

Prince Harry, on the other hand, was a few rows away from Markle. The British royal sat next to U.S.

First Lady Melania Trump and Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who gave the welcome speech. Prior to the game’s opening ceremony, Harry attended bilateral meetings with Trudeau, Trump, and Canadian governor David Johnston.

Paralympic competition

Established by Prince Harry in 2014, the Invictus Games is a transnational Paralympic-style competition that is intended for the injured, wounded, or sick armed forces or military personnel.

According to the prince, the competition is all about the “dedication of the men and women who served their countries, confronted hardship, and refused to be defined by their injuries.”

This year, the competition was held in Toronto from September 23 to September 30. Kelly Clarkson, Bryan Adams, Alessia Cara, Sarah McLachlan, The Tenors, Bachman and Turner and Coeur de Pirate are all included in the list of guest appearances at the event.

Previous sightings

Harry and Markle’s Invictus appearance is really not the first sighting of the couple but Toronto appeared to be a “special place” for them. In December, the royal prince reportedly made a “secret detour” from the Caribbean to spend time with his ladylove in her hometown.

Furthermore, they also celebrated Easter together in Toronto. Just a month ago, the royal couple took a short vacation at Queen Elizabeth II’s Balmoral estate in Scotland. However, neither the Kensington nor the Buckingham Palaces made a comment on the said trip.

In August, Markle and Harry were also spotted in South Africa. As previously reported, the couple’s African trip was their way to celebrate the actress’ 36th birthday.

Interestingly, the said trip also ignited the emergence of engagement rumors.

Engagement and marriage speculations

Prince Harry’s love life has long been attracting the interests of the media and the public. That is why it’s really not surprising to learn that rumors about his relationship status, looming engagement and marriage details are making headlines in recent months.

Following the massive royal wedding of older brother Prince William and Kate Middleton, many avid royal fans are curious about Harry’s own love story. There were even reports that claimed Harry was constantly pressured to find a deserving bride and when actress Meghan Markle entered the picture, everything intensified.

In our previous reports, the prince’s close pal Kirstie Ennis was the first one who teased the public about an upcoming royal wedding.

Unfortunately, Ennis declined to reveal further details.

The couple’s recent South African trip also sparked proposal rumors while many tabloids hinted the possibility of a royal proposal during Harry’s 33rd birthday this month. There were also speculations that the British royal will ask for Markle's hand in marriage during the Invictus event that is held in his girlfriend’s hometown.
