The "Game of Thrones" reunion special is happening, but will not air on HBO. EW originally reported that a special was filmed in Belfast with the cast of "Game of Thrones." The reunion will include actors who have departed the show, including Sean Bean. The special is hosted by Conan O'Brien. The special will head straight to video. HBO finally confirmed, on Wednesday, that the special will appear as part of the complete Season 1-8 DVD "Game of Thrones" box set which will hit store shelves in 2019. O'Brien confirmed the special was filmed but was sworn to secrecy.

Details about the reunion first surfaced in an interview between former "Game of Thrones" star Sean Bean and The Hollywood Reporter. Bean said it was for the eighth season, so they decided to get all the characters together for a bit and O'Brien ended up hosting the evening. Bean said it was a fun moment.

Other than Sean Bean, it's anyone's guess who will be included in the reunion

BGR reports that no other cast members, beyond Bean, have been confirmed for the special, though it doesn't take much to imagine a list of guests. Several top-tier actors have come and gone through the "Game of Thrones" run, including Jason Momoa, Pedro Pascal, Richard Madden, and Rose Leslie. This month, the announcement of the eighth and final season of "Game of Thrones," was announced.

The final season based on the beloved books by George R.R. Martin, was announced to be premiering in April 2019.

Bean was asked whether he keeps in touch with his fellow cast members, Sean Bean said that he had only seen them on a few occasions. Bean explained that with this line of work, you don't really keep in touch.

You do so many jobs, "whenever I see old acting friends or even drama school friends, we pick up right where we left off, the last time we spoke."
