The latest updates and spoilers for the Transformers spin-off, "Bumblebee," reveal the Autobot's mission on Earth in a new movie trailer. Paramount Pictures streamed the new trailer yesterday and the video shows Bee landing on earth and befriending an 18-year-old girl named Charlie Watson. Unbeknownst to her, Bee is also being pursued by the Decepticons and a top-secret Black Ops group named Sector 7.

The new trailer also highlights the classic Generation 1 designs of popular Transformers characters such as Optimus Prime, Soundwave, and more. The film will serve as a prequel to the popular film franchise and it takes place several years before the first movie.

The film is directed by Travis Knight and it is produced by Michael Bay.

Bee's mission in the new trailer

According to Screen Rant, the new trailer starts with the introduction of Charlie Watson (Hailee Steinfeld) trying to buy an old yellow Volkswagen Beetle from the junk shop for her 18th birthday. She soon discovers that her new car is actually an alien robot after it transforms in front of her. Charlie then befriends Bumblebee and the two set out on an adventure together.

Unbeknownst to Charlie, Bee is actually sent to Earth under orders from Optimus Prime as the Decepticons are planning to take over the planet to expand their reach beyond Cybertron. Bee will also have to deal with Sector 7 under the leadership of Agent Burns (John Cena), and he is tricked by the Decepticon villains Shatter, Dropkick, and Blitzwing.

Charlie and Bee will work together to stop the Decepticons from conquering Earth. The trailer also features several comedic scenes between them as Charlie tries to teach Bee how to blend in on Earth as people will not understand what he is and it could endanger them.

Generation Transformers designs

According to Slashfilm, the new "Bumblebee" trailer also highlighted the classic Generation 1 character designs of Autobots and Decepticons from the comics and cartoon series.

It featured the original designs of Autobot leader Optimus Prime and Decepticon soldiers Shockwave, Soundwave, Ravage, and the Seekers.

Blitzwing will serve as the main villain in the movie and his robot design was based on G1 Starscream from his color scheme to his alternate mode, a red/white McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II jet fighter. He is accompanied by Shatter and Dropkick, two Triplechangers that can transform into a car and jets.

"Bumblebee" will premiere in cinemas on December 21.
