The live-action "Shazam" movie will unveil its first official trailer at this year's San Diego Comic-Con event. The film's cinematographer (Maxime Alexandre) posted a photo on his Instagram, with a caption citing the date of the trailer release.

"Skyscraper" movie star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson also announced that Black Adam will not appear in the movie. "Shazam" stars Asher Angel and Zachary Levi as Billy Batson, someone who has the ability to transform into a superpowered adult when he shouts out the word Shazam. Angel will play the younger Billy Batson, while Levi will play him as an adult.

'Shazam' trailer coming soon

According to Screen Rant, Maxime Alexandre's photo revealed that Warner Bros will stream the first "Shazam" trailer on July 21 during their Hall H panel at SDCC 2018. The film's cast will also be in attendance during the panel as they will answer questions related to the DC movie. In addition to "Shazam," the studio will also showcase their other projects, such as "Aquaman," "Mowgli," and "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald."

Entertainment Weekly revealed the plot synopsis of the film and they point out a very comic-accurate take on the character. The plot reveals that Billy Batson will enter a new foster home and befriends comic book geek, Freddy Freeman.

One day, Billy meets an old wizard, played by Djimon Hounsou, during a subway ride and is bestowed supernatural abilities everytime he shouts his name, transforming him into a full-fledged superhero. Billy's abilities include superhuman strength, speed, heightened senses, and invulnerability. He can even fly and summon lightning as projectiles.

He can go toe-to-toe with powerful beings such as Superman, Wonder Woman, and even Darkseid.

Black Adam not appearing in the movie

Dwayne Johnson told Syfy, during an interview, that his character, Black Adam, will not appear in the "Shazam" movie. "I'm not in that one," Johnson said. "It's Shazam and Black Adam and, with the way the DC universe works, we should — in theory — meet up on the big screen.

But who knows?" In the comics, Black Adam is Billy's rival-turned-archnemesis and the first person the wizard gave his powers to before him. Adam has the same powers as Billy, but it corrupted his mind and judgment toward humanity. The wizard had no choice but to imprison him to save the world and himself.

It was speculated that Johnson will first appear as Black Adam in the"Suicide Squad" sequel and he will also have his own movie in the DC Extended Universe.
