Demi Lovato is "awake" in a Los Angeles hospital and her family is with her. NBC broke the news via their Twitter account. The famous singer was rushed to hospital on Tuesday afternoon as she was found unconscious in her home. TMZ reported that their law enforcement sources told them she was treated with "Narcan -- an emergency treatment for narcotic overdoses," by paramedics. However, some information may have been incorrectly reported by the media. There were denials that she was treated for a heroin overdose.

Demi fell off the sober wagon a while back and told fans through a song
For some people, the incident was no big surprise as she released her song "Sober" which told fans she was no longer sober, back in June. The lyrics included, " Momma I'm so sorry. I'm not sober anymore. And daddy, please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor.
To the ones who never left me, we've been down this road before. I'm so sorry, I'm not sober anymore." Before the release, she stayed sober for six years.
Demi struggled with a cocaine and alcohol addiction and spent time at a sober-living facility. However, a new report by TMZ suggests that she was struggling before the release of her song. According to unnamed friends of the star, Demi battled for a while. A friend said it was obvious that she was "in trouble." Those close to her apparently knew she was slipping into a dangerous zone.
Troubled relationship but well-hidden turmoil before overdose
It seems that Demi was able to keep her turmoil well hidden as she made her social rounds. But there were reports that she had some conflict with her "sober coach," TMZ noted.
They said that she fell out badly and accused him "of betraying her." Those not so close to her believed she was fine. But a sharp-eyed fan who saw her concert told USA Today that she cried when she sang "Sober" on stage. According to them, they didn't think much of it at the time and assumed the tears were just because it's an emotional song. But in hindsight, maybe she was deeply troubled.
Demi was due to perform at a concert at the Atlantic City Beachfest on Thursday, according to the Hollywood Reporter, but her gig was scrapped after she was taken to hospital with the suspected overdose. Evidently, she will need time to recover now she's "awake and responsive."
