In Episode 3 of "The Bachelorette," Becca is focused on getting to know the guys even more. At the start of the episode, we found out that most of the guys dislike Jordan. All the bachelors are hanging out by the pool, eating, and killing time while Becca decides who will be on the next date. A report by ABC stated that a spa date and Richard Marx would play a role in the June 11 episode. This Episode 3 recap is from the episode that aired June 11 at 8 PM on ABC.

Group date: The guys pamper and get pampered

On the first group date of the episode, Becca takes Wills, Jason, Jordan, David, Jean Blanc, and Colton for a spa day.

Not only does she take this group of guys, but she takes five of her girlfriends along as well. At first, the boys think it’s a day of getting massages. They soon find out that they are the ones meant to pamper the girls. Don’t worry! The guys end up getting some relaxation in as well, and they all end up with colorful, polished fingernails.

The date gets awkward when Colton realizes that Tia is one of the girls that Becca has invited to the spa. They are pleasant with each other, and they both voice that they ended things on good terms. Tia opens up and tells Becca that Colton ended things with her just days after they began talking to each other. She informs Becca that Colton did, in fact, end his relationship with Tia to go on "The Bachelorette." Toward the end of the date, Colton tells more about Tia and ends up taking home the group date rose.

Chris’s first date with Becca

For her second one-on-one date of the season, Becca takes Chris to Capital Studios. The two are asked to write a love song. Becca starts working on hers right away, but Chris struggles to find the words to express how he feels. He’s afraid of feeling vulnerable in such a weird situation. Becca talks him through it, and he ends up writing a sweet song for her.

They get to record them before this portion of the date is over.

Once at dinner, Chris opens up about his vulnerability. He tells Becca and viewers about his childhood as the son of divorced parents. He explains that he tried getting in touch with his father a few years prior but never got a response. Chris tells his date that he wrote a letter to his father to make amends, but his dad never wrote him back or acknowledged it.

Becca is appreciative of Chris for opening up about his past, and she gives him a rose.

Group date: The Becca Bowl

The guys for the second group date include Clay, Leo, Christon, Ryan, Jon, Derek, Mike, Lincoln, Connor, and Blake. Becca takes them for a day of football playing. At first, they’re practicing all the football drills one might expect to see at a high school football practice. A while later, Chris Harrison tells the men they will be playing an actual game in front of a live audience.

During the game, Clay (the pro football player) scores a touchdown and hurts his wrist in the process. He leaves the date early to go to the doctor, but he returns at the end of the night. Becca gives him the group date rose, but he returns it to her the following night. Clay decides to leave the show to have surgery on his injured wrist. The episode ends with no rose ceremony, and we will see that on next week’s episode.
