The much anticipated royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle happened on Saturday, May 19, 2018. The wedding ceremony was beautiful, and filled with elegance, modernity, and diversity. From Meghan's classic but modern dress, to the diverse wedding ceremony, to the elegant carriage ride, everything was accomplished beautifully. There are many photographs, and video clips of the wedding, but yesterday, on May 21, 2018, Kensington Palace released three official portraits of the royal family with the wedding party, the new couple with their wedding party, and the royal couple.

The official photographs

According to CTV News: "The shots include two formal portraits taken in the Green Drawing Room of Windsor Castle, as well as a third shot in black and white showing the newlyweds sitting together on the steps outside Windsor Castle." It was reported by Fox 9 News that the portraits were "taken by photographer Alexi Lubomirski."

The first formal photograph is of the royal family, including the wedding party. In the portrait, Meghan Markle, now the Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, are standing in the center of the photograph. To the left of the Duchess of Sussex, is her mother, Doria Ragland.

Standing beside Doria is Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, and seated in front of him is his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, who is holding their daughter, Princess Charlotte. To the left of the Duchess of Cambridge is her son, Prince George, three bridesmaids, and one pageboy. On the right side of Prince Harry are the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall. Seated beside Prince Harry are the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh. Beside the royal couple are two pageboys and two bridesmaids. The photograph shows the Duchess of Sussex's long, lacy veil, which is placed in the foreground of the portrait.

The next formal photograph is of the married couple and their wedding party, which included six bridesmaids and four pageboys, all children.

This photograph is more playful, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex situated on the ground, while the children surround them. Princess Charlotte is situated beside the Duchess of Sussex, with a huge smile upon her face. Prince George is standing beside the Duchess of Sussex, with a big grin on his face. Ben and Jessica Mulroney's children (Brian, John, and Ivy) were also part of the wedding party. As far as other members of the party are concerned, according to HuffPost, "Six-year-old Remi Litt and seven-year-old Rylan Litt are the former actress' goddaughters, while three-year-old Florence van Cutsem, two-year-old Zallie Warren and six-year-old Jasper Dyer are the prince's godchildren."

The third photograph was taken on the East Terrace outside of Windsor Castle.

This photograph was taken in black and white, and features the newly married couple, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. They are seated on the steps in front of the castle in a tender, happy moment. The Duchess of Sussex is seated in front of the Duke of Sussex, while gazing to her left, with a beautiful smile on her face. The Duke of Sussex is situated behind his wife, smiling broadly into the camera, while his right hand is placed on her right arm. The photograph is intimate, because it shows the deep love they have for each other, while still being classy.

It was reported by Fox 9 News that Kensington Palace also released a statement, saying: "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex would like to thank everyone who took part in the celebrations of their wedding on Saturday.

They feel so lucky to have been able to share their day with all those gathered in Windsor and also all those who watched the wedding on television across the UK, Commonwealth, and around the world. Their Royal Highnesses are delighted with these official portraits taken by Alexi Lubomirski and are happy to be able to share them today. They would also like to say thank you for all of the generous messages of support they have received."

What are they doing now?

It was reported by Fox 9 News that the couple have not been seen since they left Windsor Castle to go to a reception on Saturday night, hosted by the Duke of Sussex's father, Prince Charles. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex "were expected to return to their home at Kensington Palace in London on Sunday, but the palace did not provide updates or details." Queen Elizabeth II was seen in her normal routine, going back to Windsor Castle after attending a church service on Sunday morning.

However, today, on May 22, 2018, the couple attended their first engagement together as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Today the married couple attended The Prince of Wales’ Patronage celebration at Buckingham Palace to mark his 70th Birthday. The Duchess of Sussex wore a knee-length, long sleeve, beige-colored dress, with a matching hat and clutch. The video posted is a short clip of the Duke of Sussex's touching speech to his father.
