The live-action Disney movie "Christopher Robin" has now released two trailers, giving us a sneak peek of the widely loved story they are about to bring to life on August 3. As we now know, the film will bring back many of the beloved characters such as, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, and of course, Winnie-the-Pooh. Based on the original collection of stories published back in 1926, written by A.A Milne, and best known via the Disney series starting in 1966, this film will add another chapter to Christopher Robin's adventures with his childhood friends.
The trailers keep fans wanting more
Yes, there was a Winnie-the-Pooh film that recently came out in 2017 called "Goodbye Christopher Robin," a dramatic feature that told the story of Pooh's original creation. However, this film explores a more fictitious tale of becoming lost in adulthood, along with all the responsibilities that come with it. Starring Ewan McGregor as Christopher Robin, the trailer shows a world where a once imaginative and innocent kid has now distanced himself from what he once cherished and loved about life. He is reunited with his old pal Winnie, but soon abandons him and his old friends in the Hundred Acre Wood, and returns to his job in London. Winnie and the gang are determined to help their troubled friend find what he once loved about his life, family, and friends.
A 'Christopher Robin' in all of us
Although the Winnie-the-Pooh story is a childhood favorite for many, especially the original series which brought us a world of imagination, curiosity, and life lessons, the new take on the story may yet live up to the source material. As is the case with many older Disney stories, we see both innocent and intellectual entertainment, which often times come together as a film for all to enjoy.
The trailer will make you laugh and cry depending on where you're coming from, and better yet, it is the perfect way to introduce today's young kids to a world that you once wished you were a part of.
This film can be a great experience, whether you are a mother or father looking to share the story with your kids, or a nostalgic teen looking to find your teddy bear once again.
The trailers will certainly get you started, and perhaps have you revisiting those old cartoons you once wore out long ago. For many of us, Christopher Robin will not only be a grown man with a talking bear, but a reflection of ourselves and the changes we have gone through since we were kids.
