"The young and the restless" spoilers hint that it might be time for Adam Newman (formerly Justin Hartley) to come home. When "Y&R" showrunners are ready to bring back The Mustache's prodigal son, now presumed dead, there are some rumors swirling that it could be Jacob Young in the role.
Justin Hartley won't be back
Anyone hoping for the return of Justin Hartley should give that up since his new show, "This Is Us," is TV gold. Hartley has moved on and won't be back to daytime. There are also some rumor sites that speculate, on a weekly basis, that Michael Muhney will be back in the role.
Since Eric Braeden is still the big man on the CBS daytime campus, that's not at all likely.
The backstage beef between Braeden and Muhney was the stuff of soap legends. Braeden claimed Muhney tried to get him fired and they hated working together. Both actors have admitted that publicly. So long as Braeden is at "Young and the Restless," spoilers predicting Muhney's return are fake news. But now a new name has cropped up in the Adam Newman revival conversation - Jacob Young!

Jacob Young on recurring status at "B&B"
"The Bold and the Beautiful" spoilers announcing Young's swap from contract to recurring took "Bold" fans by surprise.
He's been wildly popular as Rick Forrester but has been sidelined, plot-wise, in recent months. Right now, "B&B" is totally focused on Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Liam Spencer's (Scott Clifton) split and Hope Logan's (Annika Noelle) interference.
There's also the matter of the fate of Rick's wife Maya Avant, in the storyline, since the actress who portrays here, Karla Mosley, is pregnant yet Maya cannot be since she's a trans-woman.
Many "Bold and the Beautiful" spoilers wonder whether Mosley might also be left on the back burner, at least until she gives birth, since her pregnancy cannot be written onto the soap.
Of interest is that Young put to rest the untrue rumors, spread by a gossip site, that he was "fired," although actors usually don't respond to the rumor mill.
He tweeted to confirm the transition from contract to recurring and news that he was shooting a Lifetime movie. Jacob also has a bustling alternate career in country music!
. #RT I want to take a moment to address the rumors that I'm currently off contract. All true, Im recurring and just starting to shoot a movie for Lifetime. I have been under contract for 21 years and this to me is a blessing. I can now have the time to pursue all my passions. Xo

Young as Adam Newman recast?
"The Young and the Restless" spoilers hinted for months that Adam might come back from the dead particularly since Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) found out that Christian Newman isn't his biological son.
However, that reveal came and went, as did Adam's widow Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan). But that doesn't mean the storylines won't shift to make room for Adam.
With such a talented actor as Jacob Young available and already a CBS daytime veteran, why not move him over to "Y&R" as back-from-the-dead Adam? You might remember that Young also had a plum role on "General Hospital" as Lucky Spencer from 2001-2003 before Greg Vaughn stepped into the role before himself being replaced by original Lucky, Jonathan Jackson.
Jacob Young is the right age, has the right looks, and certainly the experience to play Adam Newman. Mal Young, are you listening? You can see both "B&B" and "Y&R" weekdays on CBS and be sure to look out for more "The Young and the Restless" spoilers.
