Another day, another celebrity tax lien. In Kim Richards' case, it's actually two Tax Liens that the former "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star is reportedly dealing with. According to The Blast, Kim owes more than $118,000 in unpaid taxes to the State Of California.
Two times the tax liens
Somebody call up Kim Richards and make sure she's filed her taxes. We wouldn't want her to keep getting in trouble for failure to pay. That's what it's looking like happened in 2013 and 2014, which is going to end up costing her a lot of money.
The Blast reported that Kim is currently dealing with two different tax liens, both filed by the State of California.
The first lien is for the 2013 tax year and was filed last April. For that year, Kim Richards reportedly owes $52,068.70 in unpaid taxes. Another lien, filed in December, claims that Kim owes another $66,689.31.
That means Kim Richards' total tax bill owed to the State of California is $118,758.01. The shocking report confirmed that both liens are still currently active and have not been paid.
How will Kim pay her bill?
It doesn't seem likely that Kim Richards will return to "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" in order to pay her tax debt. According to sister Kyle, Kim has no desire to return. She even went so far as to admit that she has asked Kim in the past to film scenes with her but she always turns Kyle down.
For the most part, Kim has remained out of the public eye since her arrest back in April 2015. She was arrested for public intoxication after stopping at the Beverly Hills Hotel to sober up after a night of drinking. Richards, who had a history of addiction and attended meetings to help her steer clear of alcohol, admitted that she wasn't in the best frame of mind at the time.
With too much stress and not enough time to take care of herself, Kim relapsed and now she regrets it.
Just months prior to that embarrassing arrest, Kim was busted for shoplifting from Target. Kim was accused of stealing $600 worth of merchandise. In addition to being banned from the Van Nuys Target where she was arrested, Kim was sentenced to three years of probation, 300 hours of community service and 52 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
Kim Richards' tax liens are just another layer of drama that the former "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star has to deal with. So far, she hasn't commented on the latest reports about her large tax debt. Maybe it's time for her to return to the Bravo reality series and get those bills paid. Her fans would certainly love an update on how she's doing and after this latest season, it wouldn't hurt to add her back into the mix to make the drama feel a bit more authentic.
