Season 3 of the FOX drama has been quite the wild ride as Lucifer dealt with the return of his wings and the arrival of Tom Welling's Cain. Lucifer started the season suspicious of Lieutenant Marcus Pierce which turned into a brief partnership when Lucifer thought helping Pierce lose his mark would be an act of rebellion against his father.
When his actions seemed to put Chloe in danger, Lucifer chose to end the partnership, which soon found Pierce turning to Maze for help. Monday's episode took everything a step further as Pierce decided that without the mark he has a chance to grow old with someone so after a series of attempts to win Chloe over, the episode ends with a proposal.
When Lucifer finally realizes he has feelings for Chloe and all he has to do is tell her the truth, he makes his way over to her house after a brief nudge from Linda, but he arrives in time to see Pierce propose and Chloe say yes.
"Lucifer" stars Tom Ellis as Lucifer, Lauren German as Chloe, Kevin Alejandro as Dan, D.B. Woodside as Amenadiel, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen, Rachael Harris as Linda, Tricia Helfer as Charlotte, Aimee Garcia as Ella, Tom Welling as Pierce, and Scarlett Estevez as Trixie.
Will Lucifer confess?
Though the episode ends with Chloe saying yes, the episode airing on April 30 will find Chloe rethinking that quick decision. In "All Hands on Decker," Lucifer reluctantly works with Dan on a murder case that leads them to a dog show while Chloe takes some time off to celebrate.
Charlotte and Maze have a difference of opinion over Chloe's party which will lead to Chloe rethinking a major decision.
The May 7 episode "Quintessential Deckerstar" will find Chloe and Lucifer investigating a murder, which soon takes a turn when they discover they've gone after the wrong suspect. Charlotte will end up risking her life when she decides to do things herself.
Elsewhere in the hour, just as Lucifer makes a confession, he receives a phone call that will change everything.
Co-showrunner Joe Henderson shared with TVLine that Lucifer has missed his window now that Chloe has said yes. Next Monday's episode will pick up where the proposal left off, finding Lucifer trying to figure out his next move.
The showrunner teased that everyone will be telling Lucifer to share his feelings already. Henderson continued that fans can expect Lucifer to behave in very Lucifer behavior and behave in what he calls "a wonderfully unhealthy way."
Co-showrunner Ildy Modrovich added that Lucifer will attempt to figure out what Chloe is wanting and how he went wrong with his past attempts. For fans fearing a Chloe-Pierce wedding, it may not be set in stone just yet as Chloe will be swayed particularly by Charlotte to reconsider. Chloe will drive to sort out her feelings for Pierce who seems to be everything she wants in a partner, while also figuring out her draw to Lucifer.
What's the next step for Maze?
Monday's episode also revealed the full plan between Maze and Pierce, as Maze explains that when Pierce loses his mark she'll kill him and set Lucifer up for the murder which will ruin his happy life on earth.
Pierce may have called the plan off, but this won't stop the fan favorite demon from trying to make her plans work.
There has been no word yet on what will occur in the season finale which is set to air May 14, but it's safe to assume certain plans will backfire. Henderson teased to TVLine that Amenadiel has spent this season trying to determine what God's test for him has been, only to conclude that his test is Lucifer. His journey coincides with Charlotte's attempts to gain entry into Heaven. The two will continue to team up as Charlotte will attempt to sway Chloe back in Lucifer's direction. Their plans will go against Maze's personal goal to go home, as she will continue to try and get the mark to disappear (without knowing it already has).
