“Little People, Big World” fans are worried about Matt Roloff after the 56-year-old reality star recently posted a photo of himself at the hospital for what seems to be a serious check-up. In the photo, Matt can be seen sitting in a hospital clinic with a breathing apparatus attached to his mouth.
Matt Roloff reveals his medical condition
While Matt did not exactly reveal the extent of his breathing problems, he did reply to a fan’s comment on Facebook and said that his doctors think he might have borderline Asthma. However, some fans are worried that Matt may be experiencing serious complications with his lungs.
One of his followers brought up that being a little person may increase one’s chances of having a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Matt was born with diastrophic dysplasia, a degenerative type of dwarfism. He’s had multiple operations as a child for serious health issues that still hound him to this day. As In Touch Weekly previously reported, Matt had to undergo a surgery in 2016 on his neck which left him dependent on crutches for walking.
Despite his health issues, the "LPBW" star assured his followers that he is quite healthy and that the hospital trip was just for a "breathing test." His recent social media posts also show that he’s well enough to be active around the Roloff Farms and work on his construction projects.
“Had my breathing test today,” the “LPBW” patriarch wrote in the photo’s caption. “I think I’m going to be okay.”
Matt & Amy Roloff talk about their divorce
Prior to the hospital photo, Matt also posted a video of his barn wood collection at the Roloff Farms and said that he goes there every time he’s feeling “a bit down.” According to Radar Online, Matt’s post seemed to be the exact opposite of Amy Roloff’s posts from her happy cruise vacation with boyfriend Chris Marek.
Matt and Amy have been divorced since 2016 after almost 30 years of marriage. In the current season of “Little People, Big World, the two exes are finally opening up about what went wrong with their relationship.
As recapped by The Hollywood Gossip, last Tuesday’s episode showed Amy skydiving with her new beau on their first year anniversary.
According to Amy, Chris Marek brought out her adventurous side—something that she never had with her ex-husband.
Meanwhile, Matt admitted that he has always been workaholic. He praised Caryn Chandler, his current girlfriend, for being able to put balance in his life. According to the father-of-four, he and Amy realized they had nothing in common after their kids have grown and left home.
“Amy and I had some compatibility when the kids were born. But looking back after the kids were gone, we realized we don’t really have a lot in common and we are different people,” Matt stated in a confessional.
“Little People, Big World” airs every Tuesday, 9 p.m. on TLC.
