The Invictus Games is a Paralympic-style competition meant to encourage wounded veterans. It was started in 2014 by Prince Harry and is something close to his heart. The 2017 Games in Toronto was where he brought Meghan Markle into the limelight and he now plans to attend the 2018 Games with Meghan in Sydney, Australia. It will be in October 2018 and will be the couple’s official international trip.

PEOPLE reports that Meghan had seen the Games last year in Toronto in the company of Harry and she has already been to Bath to interact with the athletes who will be participating in the events and representing the U.K.

It is estimated that nearly 400 veterans are expected to compete for 72 spots on the team.

Soft corner for war veterans

Prince Harry had launched the Paralympic-style Invictus Games is a part of charity work. It was meant to express solidarity with the wounded soldiers and those who were recovering from battle wounds all over the world. The first one was held in London in 2014. Then came the one in Orlando in 2016 followed by the one in Toronto in 2017. Now it is the turn of the games of 2018 which will begin in Sydney on October 20 and go on till October 27.

Their appearance at the event last year in Toronto was a special one for both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle because it was here that the world saw them for the first time in public.

They watched an event of wheelchair tennis match and were seen together at the closing ceremony. It was the romance of a Prince and a Hollywood actress that will have a lasting effect on society. Their wedding date has been set for May 19.

team for the 2018 Invictus Games to be held in Sydney, Australia, in October. The two of them wore matching Invictus polos and loved to meet the participants on a running track outside of the University of Bath. They enjoyed the moment which was evident from their expressions. They laughed, clapped and shook hands with the athletes.

Meghan has come from a different cultural background and has had to adapt to a new lifestyle. She has discarded many old concepts and embraced new ones and has impressed the Royal Family and all those she has met so far. She has been to Scotland, Northern Ireland and other places and the people have accepted her as one of their own. She and Harry will tie the knot at St George’s Chapel on May 19, and members of the Armed Forces will attend the ceremony.
