The latest updates for the "Captain Marvel" film reveal new behind-the-scenes photos featuring Samuel L. Jackson's character Nick Fury. The HollywoodPipeline was the first to upload and share these photos online and it has spread out to every social media outlet and news site. This also marks Jackson's return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies by reprising his role as the infamous S.H.I.E.L.D. director.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." star Clark Gregg is also making his return to the MCU films as he explains how Marvel Studios will make his character, Phil Coulson much younger on the big screen.

The young S.H.I.E.L.D. agents

The plot of "Captain Marvel" will take place in the 90s era as "Room" film actress Brie Larson takes on the role of Carol Danvers, a United States Air Force pilot who is caught in an intergalactic conflict between two alien races; the Kree and Skrulls. She will likely get caught by the Kree and has fused her DNA with others to create a very powerful being.

The film will feature two MCU characters who were prominent in the formation of the Avengers and they are Nick Fury and Phil Coulson.

As seen in the photos of the movie, a young Fury will have interaction with Danvers after she saved him. The latter will both his eyes and hair, and the studio will likely use special effects to make him look young.

Phil Coulson will also get the same treatment as Clark Gregg told ComicBook that studio will do something about it to make him younger at the same time recognizable to the fans.

"The '90s? I mean, there is no gym that can get me back to the '90s," Gregg said. "And they said, 'Well don't worry. We have been working on that technology, and we think we can goose you back a few years.'"

Both Nick and Phil have made their own marks in the MCU, tracking down individuals with special abilities and morals such as Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, and more to establish the principles of being a hero.

While S.H.I.E.L.D. has been divided and dissolved many times, they still do good in the shadows and continue to protect the world from global and intergalactic threats.

Ronan and Korath returns

Aside from Nick Fury and Phil Coulson, "Captain Marvel" will also feature the return of Ronan the Accuser and his lieutenant, Korath the Pursuer. Both characters made their MCU debuts in "Guardians of the Galaxy" as they pursue Peter Quill and his rag-tag group of outlaws for the Power Stone.

Ronan will join his fellow Kree in the events of the film before he was banished by his people, and it is unknown how he will meet Korath afterward. Carol Danvers will also make her return in "Avengers 4" and help the heroes defeat Thanos.
